Or are there fewer and fewer Skalds being rolled?

I take Chars through BG1 once in a while and during my latest outing I've only spotted 1 20-24 Skald in the last week.

No lack of Mincers and Bards it would seem but no Skalds :/

Are we a dieing breed, shouldnt someone set up a skald breeding program, or are we just not considered valuable in RvR anymore?

There does seem to be a few ppl rolling taxis out there, but not many tbh, ppl are going more for zerkers and healers atm i think.

Aye we've felt the lack of skalds as a guild.

Thats why we power leveled someone who had a hunter to a 50 skald and recruited a few more skalds

I meet I guy Named Kirrokk about a month ago, who was new and had rolled a skald. anyways he talked about forming a guild called "The Thirty" which would consist of 30 skalds!
A few weeks ago I spot a skald with The Thirty as guild. I pm Kirrokk and he said he got it together and it was growin.

I for one think theres a lack of PBT runies, hence i'm lvling one with the ambition of going max supp for the 6sec 1337 PBT... oh and the Max P0W4h! bolts.... i was also thinking of speccing for the PBAE as well, afterall Runies get like a buzzillion points each level and can get all their spec lines to 50 by the time they reach lvl 3!!!

I have noticed it to. In all of BG0 and BG1 these past few days, I only saw maybe 1-2 skalds. Thus I just rolled one. I don't know why people aren't playing them anymore. They seem to always do well either in PvE or RvR.

Skalds are very good but loose it slightly at higher lvls, we arent bad though and unbelieveably easy to play (insta-everything!).

Oh and there are crap loads of pbt runies at the moment, people have realised its the minstrel of midgard, go afk and no-one will notice.

Untill they get aggro in a pull, nobody notices so they die and when you try to res they arn't there....

...then half an hour later when you've gotten sombody else they sudden appear and start screaming shit about getting them killed on purpose, etc...

i loved PBT runies actually, quite a nice story in lair one time....

So here i am, watching the pulls being backup mezzer (back in the day when there was no end regain or PBAE and i actually had an insta mez (PoI )!!)

And so i notice our PBT runie hadn't been nuking in about 10mins.. ok, well i can put the conc to better use so i drop his purity. Suddenly all hell breaks lose

Runie(His name will be protected because i can't remember it ): Need purity
Archeon (Thats me): Yeah, well you arn't nuking or anything so i'm using the conc on a tank
Runie: WTF? Give me a purity
Archeon: I don't see the point if your afk half the time and just watching us the other half. its not like your actually draining your mana
Runie: Give purity or i drop PBT!!
Archeon: ....Umm....
Archeon: Fine, whatever

<10mins later, since reciving the PoI the runie has nuked 3 times then gone... i assume, afk again.... so i drop purity again>
<5mins pass>

Runie: Did healer wipe or somthing, i need purity
Archeon: i dropped it 5mins ago, you were afk without saying again wern't you
Runie: Look retard, stop dropping my purity your only in this group because of the list so STFU!

Anyway, about 5mins after that i'd gotten into the other group and was happily killing again. Think the PBT runie was still afk without purity after that but to be honest i didn't much care.

I know most people arn't like that but its the 1-2 that abuse their PBT that get on my nerves

<groan> if everyone thinks a skald is a taxi, do you then blame ppl for NOT rolling one? i don't spend my time online playing taxi for ppl who lack good speed. those times where some nice person are asking me if he/she can get a lift somewhere i usually invite them.
tho recently ppl have started inviting themselves, this happens often on the Gna <-> Galplen tour. some lowerlvl want speed, sprinting after you yelling: " please please, can i get a taxi to gna faste?? please, i don't have good speed"

honestly ppl, if you could get just a little bit more polite about our speed, and ask nice when you want a "taxi" somewhere, then there might be rolled more skalds.

I sympathise with skalds, but lets face it, skalds got speed. shammys got end regen, healers get POM, makes all 3 of us support classes. Yes skalds got other things, but take away their speed who would group with them? Hmm....

Sad but true.

Skalds actually show up in the LFG box for healers now, so i think Mythic consider them support as well... gotta admit as a support class they arn't that great (Dark spec runie got a better dmg buff, mend shammy got a better HP regain, ok they have speed but all thats good for is getting from A-B quicker... they do have resist buffs but then when they cycle through them they cancel out any timer resists

thats why we quit, because you only think we are usefull as a taxi!

two of my rl mates rolled skald recently

the one is 50

the other is 46 atm..

and as for they are skalds and cant do anything?

the 50skald did, at lvl 42 simply EAT a dorf zerker lvl 40..

two hits guys.. two hits dammit! was with crit on the one hit and proc aswell.. +the dd's where the one was resisted.
