Get a windows install disc or pendrive.

Boot off the disc/pendrive and when you get to the first options there will be a troubleshoot/advanced, click troubleshoot.

Then click command prompt ( or advanced>command prompt, it varies ).

then use each of these .

bootrec /RebuildBcd
bootrec /fixMbr
bootrec /fixboot
exit

then reboot and pray.

Bloody thing, ever since I went to 10 I've had problems like this.

It was trying to boot from the CD/DVD drive for some reason, don't know why it changed, went into boot manager and selected the HDD and its working, but maybe the HDD is playing up so its trying to boot elsewhere

Thank anyway fellas :):)

You havn't got a 2nd hhd in it have you ? Bootmanager loaded but wasn't able to find a partition its assigned to. Makes me think its a 2nd drive. If not, might want to look at a backup solution while you have access.

Yes I have, there's 2 1tb drives in there. One has the OS and the programs on and the other is storage for to a d movies (and other *ahem* stuff)

I also have a 1tb external drive which is usually plugged in, but I did unplug it last night and she down this morning. I usually leave it running all the time with the ex HDD plugged in all the time, maybe that has something to do with it.

And yes I need to do some back ups as I've not done for a while

load up diskpart and select each disk (list disk | select disc X) and do a list volume make sure there isn't a boot partition on one of the other 2 drives that's causing the "mad" bootup.

Also, cloud storage and streaming, its 2015 ;)

Bloke at work had a similar problem. He reset the BIOS and it worked (despite not having changed anything at all previously)
