I go with the personal life should stay personal stance, and add that who gives a shit about Wayne Bridge, he's crap and shouldn't be in the squad anyway ;)

Idon't really mind Terry being stripped but giving it to someone else who's done equally worse stuff doesn't make any sense to me.

He should have resigned to save face and not have to put Capello through all this shit too tbh.

Yes he should be stripped. He needs to have the respect of his team mates and Im sure that a number of them havent got that at the moment and so he cant really spur them into action.

Good riddance, Gerrard shoulda been the captain right from the start !!

gerrard aint worthy of captain of england.. he cant get anything out of his liverpool team mates that got some better players underperforming then England do. So if he cant do anything there then he useless and tbh shouldnt be in the England team half the time as they play him on the wing and he sucks.

Can John Terry be a role model to talented young wannabe Premiership footballers notwithstanding his misdemeanours off the field? Does this count for anything these days?

why must every famous guy/girl have to be a role model?

they didnt become famous so they could tell other kids how to act, they obviously did it because they like what they do and for the money.

A few "jokes" I just heard

**After Wayne Bridge refused to play for England while John Terry remains captain, fans are now urging JT to try it on with Emile Heskey's wife.

**Wayne Bridge sees John Terry really upset,he says to JT "why are you so upset John ?", JT replies "i've lost my captains armband under your bed"

**We all knew John Terry liked scoring at The Bridge, but this is ridiculous

**What has Vanessa Perroncel got in common with a Champions League final goalpost? They've both been banged by John Terry...

Yes he is justified in dropping him as captain, but only because it has all come out and will get worse this weekend. By dropping him, it takes some focus off the England team.

I agree that our tabloid media are utter scum though, this did not need to be published,a nd they have pretty much led a crusade to get him dropped.

I don't follow footy so I'm looking on this without knowing his professional background.

Yes, Capello was right to remove the England team captaincy from Terry.

The captaincy of a national team is not just a position of responsibility, it is a position that demonstrates judgment and respect.

Banging someone outside of marriage in itself isn't cause to take the armband off him. Banging the g/f of someone in the team shows poor judgment and a lack of respect for the player. That lack of judgment and respect for his fellow players is why he should have stepped down voluntarily when it become mainstream news. The fact that he refused to do the decent thing and wait for the team manager to come back into the country and forcibly remove his captaincy speaks volumes IMO.

zenith, he was banging the EX girlfriend of his mate. The media has reported a lot of bollocks on this story.

lets face it, nobody gives a shit about JT shagging anyone. People just might not like him so that's the reason why they wanted him removed.

On balance it's the correct decision, I started off thinking he should stay but have now changed opinion. This story will run and run, and ultimately it could affect team performance. Had he been shagging some random bird then ok, but he wasn't, it involved someone who he could potentially be playing with in the World Cup. At least now, everyone can see his actions have cost him the captaincy and hopefully we can move on.

But I don't agree with the apparent choice of new captain, Rio Ferdinand has served a ban for drugs offences and is currently suspended due to violent conduct.

But then given who else is in the squad I can't think of many players who have clean records.

Actually I wanted him removed because he tried to bully the courts into covering it up, for that reason alone I am glad he has been found out. Fucking celebs are happy to sell photos to OK magazine, take product endorsements for any old shit and generally whore themseleves out to the highest bidder. The as soon as the media get a scoop on them the fuckers run from the hills, exploit a weak piece of legislation to try gag the newspapers.

It is as simple as this, if you want to be the captain and a leader for a national team you should be whiter than white. Don't take the fucking job if you have skeletons in your closet. But no, the endorsements are worth millions so every fucking scumbag footballer will happily embaress the nation as long as they get paid beforehand.

Who cares.

Footballer in cheating-on-wife shocker. Fuckwitted behaviour (particularly Gerrard) goes hand in hand with football imo, what can you expect.

As a Chelsea supporter yes Caopello was right, although some of the alternatives put forward aren't any better if you look at it in terms of personal and professional lives.

Even more of a shame that Giggs isn't English tbh, one of the few who has conducted himself in the right manner and would be considered a good rolemodel. Sadly the England squad of players is pretty tainted, most have had incidents of one sort or another, would Gareth Barry not have been a viable candidate? I can't remember him stepping out of line although I could be wrong.

As for Rooney, he shagged a granny when he was 17, I think that is forgivable when you consider most 17 year olds are fucking nuts anyway and can be easily talked into anything. If it wasn't for his hot-headedness I would say he could do the job, with regards to the level he demands from those around him and the respect he carries he lives up the the role. Time will tell if his temper subsides enough to warrant him being given a chance as skipper.

Heh, footballers and other celebs do that all the time, nothing new or specific to JT.

Wouldnt be suprised if Rio is the NOTWs new hate target.

If what Marc said is true then Cashley is next on the agenda, he is an even bigger story than JT because of how famous his wife is. Cashley-gate sold millions of extra papers for well over a month, another full blown scandal is a major cashcow for the papers as it generates huge amounts of advertising revenue.

And you would have said much differently with Gerrard when he was in trouble last year...

I think this issue is over bloated and I cba with it any more. Who cares? I don't. Newsflash, someone doesn't know the meaning of the word fidelity - big fucking deal...
