I dont visit these forums too often but I noticed just by a quick glance down the posts that in general people seem to enjoy low level RvR a lot more than higher level stuff, also there's far less flames (RvR forum seems to be full of them)

know I always liked low level stuff because it was purely about experimenting with your character ;)

sometimes thidranki can be the most infuriating place of all

but.....alot of times it is the best place!

experimenting with new chars - yes
no real ganking (As every1 is 24 or close to 24) - yes
lots of action - yes

as to the forums having a nicer tone, i do believe there are a sub set of more mature players who are only dabbling on bg1 at the moment while they wait for PvP or move to another game. well that goes for me anyway, but i think it holds true for some others.

there are some nice, and very skilful players on all 3 realms.

i can only urge you to come along and try it, getting a char to 24, is painless (relatively speaking).

/back to levelling his hunter, and with only 50 rps left for dirtyharry

Baby rvr

I'd say that playing baby rvr is alot more fun atm than using my lvl 50 in Emain, especially with all the wall camping that seems to be pretty permanent now.

I'd advise anyone who is bored of main RvR to get a character to 24 and give Thidranki a go...there's alot more action, and it beats mmg camping any day.

If only main rvr was as fun as Thidranki, instead of the boredom-filled disaster that it's turning into.

all depends what you do in the main RvR...

if you take 'TK camping' and times the number of people by ten, then do bridge fights with 10 times the number of people..

that's real RvR...

well it's Emain anyway - if you try taking keeps/defending/exploring the frontier/hunting deep in the enemy frontier - it's apparently a lot more interesting.

Certainly defending our own frontier is a good laugh every so often :)

BG RvR can be a good laugh too - mezz doesn't last as long... the game is a bit more balanced... (or the imbalances aren't so pronounced)

i think one of the overall main differences between the two are realm points, in "proper" rvr people treat them like xp :(, in thidranki however they are shunned like the few fingered leporous old women of khaltagare! :D the difference is amazing, nobody whining about them, nobody flaming because "OMFG!!! HE'S WORTH TONS OF REALM POINTS! WTF DIDNT YOUR MEZZ CATCH HIM YOU F00K1NG N00B?!?!?!?!?!??!?!???!?!!!!!111"

everyone (well most people) there are there for fun only, and the rvr isnt treated like xping on highly social wandering mobs, whereas in "proper" rvr mostly all you see are farming sessions :(.

personally i prefer thidranki myself, but it's too small if your a speed class i'm afraid, just not enough land to move around in. but for all others it's ace, especially stealthers because the stealth slows you down so much, it's ace to have everyone in such a small area :)

Id say it is in some ways. It used to be much better in emain etc when the zergs were less prevailant. However now its getting a bit like that in BG also which is a pain. The portal camping is very annoying (Mainly albion) as is the apparent lack of discipline some people have when trying to organise certain activities like keep raids but other than that like Krogar mentioned if u want to try different characters without committing a mega amount of time to get there, bg is great although i still think its merely a taste and vastly different than mainstream rvr.

the best part about the BG's is that the albi, hib and mid PK's are all close as in the mid side of the emain MMG big thats the whole area :)

means you don't have to travel as far to be crushed by the albi zerg, that and its possible to cause them to scatter with a few well placed AE DOT's. i really love it when the big bad lvl 24 oranges run away from little old me in my orange armour :D
