Ok, Ive got quite a few decent friends and stuff who i known / worked / went college with for 2-3years, HOWEVer, they all like different types of music than me. I am a rock/punk/classical rock person, yet they all like RnB shite, base, MCs and stuff :S.

We went Preston lastnight, and as usual we find ourselves in some shitty rNb club. (Browns for laddleys sake), and I just fecking hate it. We moved on into some other place were the music was semi decent, old classics, (you know the good old dancing songs, abba etc)... and they all fuckin moan. Pisses me off and not sure what to do. Guess i just wont be able to go out with them asmuch but I just cant get my self to like rnb, i just have no respect for that music but thats just my opinion.

Any ideas?

you could try a compromise tbh one week they choose the club and the next week you choose, or just maybe try going out with them to neutral places like going bowling/quazer clubs that play misic you all either like or hate...

do you have to go to clubs with these guys how about just going to the pub?

tbh though i dont know lol i dont have any friends so this is just a theoretical wossname of what i'd do if i was you, and if i wasnt so crotchety and antisocial (actually i'd tell them to sod off the musics crap its too loud, i want to sit down and its way too late for me im off home to my jim jams... this is why i have no friends lol) but if i was a social person i'd definately follow my own advice tbh.

Well it was a friends birthday, i dont go out too much anymore just because of this. I got 1-2 other mates who like my music and dont like RNB like me, but they just dont come out or actually only go to the pub

I reckon you went to Reflex, 80's bar - With all the yummy mummys in?

Brown's is a bag of wank tbh. I've nothing against black people, but the black community in Browns is awful, they have such bad attitudes towards us.

Moods - Near mac donalds/wilkinsons - Go there, your mates will love it in there. It's all types of music. There's a R&B Floor upstairs, Downstairs is pop, bits of Artic Monkey, Razorlight and all that. (upstairs is shit btw)

Lava, used to be Tokyo Joe's, doubt you will like it in there, won't like the £8 entry fee either.

Manyanah's (sp) is kinda' like Moods, although the R&B floor is under the ground. It's great in there, they've got propper air conditioning and its really nice. Fucking small up top though.

I've vaguely heard of this place called 'Zoo' dunno where it is etc. They play your type of music etc. Check it out.

Either find some new friends or ask them to respect your wishes, i really don't know tbh since all my mates get high off the music in town. Get a couple of good e's and a line down your throat and you'll be buzzing! <3

o_O You actually care about the music they play when you go out? I mean sure, like you I'd rather go where they play good music; but.. It's not really a big deal.

Find somewhere where either you all like, or all grow up? :S

i do to actually. if i walk into a club in town playing heavy death metal kill your mother and beat each other up music, i tend to leave (which ive done many times). if i walk into a club playing ***** shit waat pass me the crack pipe dogg bitch, i wont hang around very long either.

is it possible to make some more acquaintances at college or what ever it is you currently attend? having a few different circles of friends is really handy, as you cover pretty much anything youd like to do :)

*Laughs* I'm more tolerant to music than you it seems, though I started with the 'heavy death metal kill your mother and beat each other up music' (Get a clue, kkthx) and now I can walk into a RnB/Hip Hop/whatever club (don't tend to, but have on a few occasions) and listen to the music and (IMPORTANT BIT!) 'Have fun with my friends'

Find a place you can all go or go to a pub.. =<

Think laddey's got it spot on with the club with multiple floors, they're always the best. Either that or just get so off your face that anything with a beat sounds good :)

can you not grasp that maybe my friends and i cant have fun listening to a ***** street dog talking about how he capped someone? we have fun by dancing to music we enjoy. maybe its just me, but if i dont like music, i cannot dance. and to say im not tolerant to music is laughable. in my leisure time i listen to anything from Beethoven to the latest hed kandi albums.

get a clue about what? the particular club im talking about turns into a gigantic brawl. as soon as that music comes on people are flying into each, knocking people on their ass and whacking random people. admittedly i did enjoy it one time, simply because people thought it acceptable to try knock me down, i found it acceptable to do the same back. being bigger than most just made it a whole lot easier.

btw guys, hows the music at the lava you goto? at work im usually working in the dancy bit, its possibly a bit chavvy on occasion (last night the police came and CS gassed a massive brawl). i worked in the RnB section once, if it wasnt for the DJ being very good i would of hated it.

have to agree with you here tris. In browns i just couldn't dance, not just because i dont know the words, or cant even tell what they are saying, just its not my type of music.

Sorry, no offence but Preston is the biggest lowlife of rathouse hole that's even more depressing than watching paint dry. 10 years ago it had the highest studen suicide rate throughout the country and yes, i've been there, it sucked elephant balls. Never will go back.

My solution :- Move south to Liverpool :)
