Ipod - Car?

So i got a new CD player for my Car which has a connection which allows you to connect an ipod to it.

Anyhoo, i had an Ipod Mini lying around still in its box, so i thought i may as well make use of it... There was a lead that was given at the time for the Ipod connection. I thought it was just a "plug in earphones socket and away you go..."

But it didnt work out that way, when i plugged it in, it didnt even register anything so i dont know if there is something else i had perhaps missed out, but checking on some websites they said there is leads out there which make it this simple - But seemingly not?

Is there something i have to setup on my ipod? Hmm...

Sony CDX-GT300 is the one i have.

I plug one end of the lead into the Aux part, then plug the other end into my Ipod earphone.... Nothing happens. I have tried both ends in each socket but none made a difference?

did you by any chance try changing the mode of the CD Player to "AUX" before pressing play on the ipod?

Nope, although now you mention it i just checked through... i think i might be able to do it soon, will check when i go to work
