I have seen videos of it working when not at a wifi hotspot and it is laughable like going back 3 years in terms of data transfer.

I doubt i would use this as my phone even if some one gave to to me. And i mean that id sell it.

ever the ipod critic, my nano serves me well and after you said it would break after 2 weeks...well 1.5 years and still going strong :p
My 3 yr old zen works without itunes and lets me dump any file i like on it without the need for conversion

Just because it works, doesnt make it any less of an inferior product. I am sure the iphone wont break, but doesnt change the fact it is crap compared to its competition

Well it fits my needs and theres nothing wrong with itunes if you know how to install the thing without letting it take over your pc.

Oh Noes! I have to convert something over to the ipod format..well that takes AGES on a core 2 duo :| ... not.

If something fits my needs PERFECTLY why would I bother getting something else? Even if you are on a moral high ground because for some reason you have a fettish for hating apple.

Good battery life,
Good Sound Quality, (when you replace those shitty headphones.
Good Solid Quality
Good at what I want it for (PLAYING MUSIC)

I dont have to do it at all, or are you seriously trying to argue that a work-around is better than the problem not existing?

Because its a inferior product which costs more?

No idea where this is from, i have no brand loyalty whatsoever.
I buy what is the best buy for the budget i have set in terms of price/performance

Good battery life,
Ipod - 10 hrs
Creative Zen - 14 hrs with EAX enabled, 24 hrs with extra features off

Good Sound Quality, (when you replace those shitty headphones.
Ipod:
Frequency response: 20Hz to 20,000Hz (higher range = better)
Signal to Noise Ratio: 45dB (higher = better)
Channel Separation: 10dB/vertical div (higher = better)

Creative Zen:
Frequency Response: 20Hz - 20kHz (higher range = better)
Signal to Noise Ratio: 98dB (higher = better)
Channel Separation: 75dB (higher = better)

Good Solid Quality
Ipods were riddled with build quality problems, more noticably the flakey screens. Whether that is still the case? i dont know, i havent looked as i have no intention of buying a new mp3 player. I do however know when i bought my brother his ipod nano(he wanted the name basically because they are "cool"), he had to get get it replaced 3 times

Good at what I want it for (PLAYING MUSIC)
Good maybe, but not better than a Zen and most certainly not the best price/performance

Edit: Note that the above refers to the original ipod, which was the direct rival to the mp3 player i have (which is assumably what gamah was refering to)

then you didn't buy it did you

Whats that got to do with anything? I said it suits my needs and you broke down a list to try and disprove my opinions.

It suits my needs, so don't waste your energy trying to convert me.

Oh I am going to buy a 8gb for my misses!! Quick break down my post and list reasons apple sucks.

You went off topic and said you got a better deal, i replied to your post

No, you assumed i said Apple sucks which i at no point did.
I said it was technologically inferior, which it is as i have proven.
Apple has done fantastic advertising and made it a "cool" item, which is probably why you are buying it for your gf. That in no way dithers from the fact that it is a technologically inferior product put in a pretty case, branded and sold for a higher price as a result as indicated by the original post.
Unless you can proove me wrong, i fail to see on what basis you are arguing

Because I am in the mood to argue.

If I was buying an MP3 player, I would buy a Zen :D

The iphone is a piece of shit, the only good thing about it is the flash interface. It's 2g only which spells out shit slow everywhere (less than 300k ish.)
It cant do MMS messages (Four years ago anyone?)
It can't sync with exchange correctly yet afaik
The camera is shoddy at best
No doubt 2 year contracts will be enforced in the uk (Possibly europe) due to its popularity, not the costs ($220 to manufacture)
It has an apple logo on it
It's full of itself

All told, its shit :p To be fair, as a _Phone_ designed for calling people only, its good i guess. Sure its probably a fair decent mp3 player but only certain headphones work even then! Text input is reported really shit on it so no ta :)

I've got an N95 and its brilliant. The N95 is 3.5g+ (HSDPA for the technical amoung us) so the connection speed is 1.8mbps max (Typically 1mb or so) which is more than enough to stream a youtube video and even to stream shoutcast audio streams which the iphone will probably struggle with.

Oh and I have a creative zen too. I'll never buy an apple product as long as they're so full of themselves.

The "I'm a Mac, I'm a PC" adverts for example are a load of shit, I really don't get why apple pretend to be superior when MS have a majority market share and have done for a long long time.

//rant over.

Summary, Iphone sucks, N95 rocks.

Oh btw, the N95 is a far superior "smartphone" than the iphone, for instance I have a python webserver running on mine :p So my mates can access all my phones content over the web (Selectively of course, I can choose what they see)

You're lucky if you can run anything on the iphone that apple dont want you to.

My iBook is on the way to my place and I can't wait for it weeeee....lots of my mates have one and imho it's a great notebook. Long battery duration and MacOs runs everything you need for working at university, without having to use an MS product :p

Anyways, I think the iPhone is rather shit cause of the already mentioned reasons and just too expensive to buy it just cause of the Apple logo.

But Naffets, running a Python server on a mobile is no big deal if you have a mobile with an OS that can be exchanged. Linux portable offers everything you want for every purpose. Apparently some people use their mobile as W-LAN access point and router, by connecting it to the internet via a USB-modem ^^

Running vanilla os on my n95, still works wonders :p

iphone is restricted in terms of custom apps, windows mobile/symbian OS isn't.

I have a MDA Vario also (My old phone) which should run ubuntu portable at some stage in the future <o/

I barely use my Nokia 3220 pay as you go as it is - I'd imagine I'd probably get myself one of these (or similar, as the direct competitors do seem to be better) in about 15 years.
