why a galaxy nexus when the galaxy s2 is superior?

edit ^ if you weren't aware of the above, do more research before even thinking of buying!

have done research the s2 is better in some regards the problem is i can only get it on an 18 month contract and i dont fancy that for a 1 year old phone. rang o2 to see if i could get it on 12month was told no.

it's not 1 years old, it's only come out in March. It's a better phone.

I've never owned an iphone. The screen may be awesome, and pretty much everyone does an app for it, but to be honest, I really like the flexibility & customisation you get with Android, and they're only going to get more popular. Sure, you've got iCloud and the apps open nice, but everyone's got an iphone, and they all look really boring. Just a load of folders.

The S2 is a cracking phone. Its blindingly fast. Really fast. Download speeds are amazing on GG. Its been able to handle everything I've thrown at it & has never crashed.

My only complaint is that the phone doesn't automatically alhpabetise the apps in grid view (but I'm told you can get round that by rooting anyway). Got a half decent price for it SIM free, am on GG, and get infnite texts, unlimited/unrestricted internet & more minutes per month than I need.

No, I was not asking for a comparison between the iPhone 4s and the Nexus, but the S2 and the Nexus.

S2 has a better GPU, better main camera, better screen tech and expandable memory.
Nexus has a better resolution and has Ice Cream Sandwich.

The S2 is expected to get ICS at some point and when it does it will out class the Nexus. But there is something to be said for getting the updates on Google schedule and not on Samsungs especially when your phone is a year into its contract and the S3 is out.

I've said this before about the S2, the screen tech is not better.

Definite "better" - super saturated, high contrast so it makes you go "ooooOOoO", or accurate colours / contrast reproducing images as they are supposed to be seen?

It is said it is better because it is a version up from the tech on the Galaxy Nexus. So unless the Plus screen of the S2 is actually inferior to the non plus, which not many people seem to think is true, the S2 has better screen tech.

This was S2 vs G Nexus not AMOLED vs iPhone.

Get the S2 or the galaxy note.

There is already a version of Ice Cream Sandwich out for the S2. S2 has better camera and internal storage.
I have just got the note and it is amazing. Screen is huge but thats a good thing. Not sure how I could go back to a smaller screen having had the Note.

I'm happy as larry with the S2. Without a doubt it will get blasted out the water in the next 12 months (at which time I'll reconsider my options), but am certainly not planning on getting the Nexus. Or an iphone.

I'll echo the S2 recommendation, brilliant phone. Does everything I've tried doing with it, and quickly and without any issues. My only 'complaint' so far has been with the headphones included, they've got shitty sound compared to my old Galaxy 1 pair which sadly doesn't work at all with this phone.. but meh, you're not supposed to use the standard stuff anyways are you?

Yeah, the earphones included are a bit wank - rubbish noise cancellation and they sound tinny. The phone itself is fantastic, battery goes down fast inexplicably sometimes but that's one of very few complaints from me.

Agreed - the stock phones are cack. Need to replace them. What do ppl think of the Sennheiser HD595s?

Just go for a £20 - £30 quid pair of in ear senhiesser's, you can quite often get them on offer and therefore they are a bargain. Your phone won't produce audio quality to justify anything more, unless you plan on carry a cmoy amp around with you?

I'm actually looking for a pair for my Kawai MP9000 stage piano, so am even considering the Grado RS-2s...but if they double up as a half decent pair for the phone, so much the better.

They won't, the phone won't produce the power needed for those headphones.

I am using these as my second pair of sound magics. And i will never look back even the £20 set i had before were great compared to Sony and Sennheiser ones I had tried before.

I've used Sennheiser CXL400 earphones with my phone. They are brilliant quality and really provide a good all-round sound. Bass has the right level of boom, mid-range is clear and top-end is sharp. If you shop around, you can find them for a decent price.

I'm considering a HTC Sensation XE when my contract is up for renewal because it's supposed to come with beats earphones and special audio profiling when they're plugged in. Thing is that "the next big thing" might have come through my May.

soze's headphones are the one's I would go for Lamp, if I had to buy replacements that is the path I'd take.

I got the galaxy nexus. It's a great phone but a lot of android apps aren't yet working correctly on ICS. I don't think the screen is as good as the 4S but I'm not that bothered about that.

I have one too - I guess you're going to either love it or hate it ... I love mine!

The Galaxy S2's output impedance is, apparently, on the high side. Not good for insensitive headphones.
