Nope.

You need to install whatever SE software your phone uses to sync with a PC (PC suite I believe), export your contacts as a .csv file - you may have to sync with outlook and export from there to achieve this. Import the .csv file into googlemail, this will add all your contacts to gmail. Select sync contacts with gmail on your iphone.

You can use any email account that supports Excahnge Syncing to do the same. Hotmail for example.
This.

Be aware though that depending on the sync you can wipe your iPhone contacts.

How many contacts do you have and what's the old phone, I'm using Soocial and it's brilliant for this sorta stuff.

Personally I would say wait for iPhone. Apple are always vague with release dates, but then release on very short notice indeed. There will be quite a queue for iPhone 5 though, so it could be a few weeks after release. Also, the 4 will be a damn site cheaper all of a sudden if that still interests you.

Give the HTC sensation a look as others have suggested. It is a great phone. To be honest, anything is an improvement on Blackberry. They are two years behind in the apps Market and the build quality is woeful.

Whichever you go with, get a decent data plan, it is easy to burn mb's during the first month or two on any modern smartphone.

Why only those 2 ?
Because i just dont want to waste my time and money on a HTC for example and realise its nothing compared to my new Blackberry Bold.

Cheers for the advice chaps.

Also....Chet....I need to swap my contacts from blackberry (like 400+) to my iphone, so cheers for that info always handy to know.

You should really do some research before saying stupid things like that mate. Android is miles ahead of blackberry and iOS. It's only down to style between a htc, samsung or iPhone top end.

Yep, Android and iOS is pretty close (as far as I've seen from my own research and experiences, Android wins) but they both leave Blackberry in their dust.

Sorry but its subjective. Blackberrys with BBM have made a real name for themselves and have a loyal user base. We have tried to pull people away from them with every high end phone going and we just get told its over complicated ect.

iTunes plays a huge part too sure it's bloated to hell but millions use it and to pair the two together for that 'everything is there' feel it's a huge selling point which Android needs to catch up on.

I really enjoyed the ease of getting a movie,tv show and a ton of music onto my 3GS in a few clicks it's not that simple with an Android phone.

As an overall smartphone experience, it's not subjective at all - BB just can't compete with what the other 2 (3 with Microsoft) are doing. BBM might well be their trump card but it's not like there aren't dozens of "always on" systems available for Android that use data and so don't cost...

I'm talking specifically about Laddeys statement about the htc not comparing to his blackberry bold. I cannot believe Laddey has tried android if he's saying something like that. Blackberry has it's place, but it's not a smartphone in the sense that android or even ios devices are.

To be fair, apart from registering the product, you don't need to use itunes on the iphone at all anymore.

Sorry but it is if you use BBM to talk to all your friends then Android and WhatsApp is not a good replacement as unless all your friends are on WhatsApp you will pay to text them.

Yeah I'm not disagreeing with you. :) If all your friends have Blackberries then you are going to use BBM, if all your friends have Android with Viber or WhatsApp installed then you can use Viber or Whatsapp (or Google Talk). Viber and WhatsApp can also communicate happily with Blackberries and iPhones (in that there are Blackberry and iOS versions of both of them) so you can have the best of both worlds.

Actually I'd contest that. In a lot of ways, its much easier, especially with video, because Android will support pretty much any file format you throw at it, so I can dl an avi or an MKV and be playing it on my Android device 2 minutes later, not the experience I have with my iPhone.

Blackberry has carved a distinct niche for itself that Android and iOS don't really reach because smartphones are too expensive for the 16-21 demographic, who'd potentially like a smartphone but are on prepay so can't afford the handset charge and are scared to death of data and apps charges. BBM then seals the deal but its price that's the key motivator.

Yep, getting access to media on the actual iPhone itself can be a PITA. Stick a memory card into your Android handset packed full of porn and it'll pretty much play it no problem by pointing at a folder from a media player.

SuperAMOLED which a) is over saturated b) has a poorer viewing angle c) has woefully inaccurate colours and d) lower DPI?

I own a sensation :)

But the general thinking is that the Super AMOLED screens are the best about.

I got to be honest (coming from soneone who initially drooled big time over the S2)...went to a BBQ last month...a friend's wife had one....moderately bright sunlit afternoon held in normal playing position...I was leaning over her shoulder....couldn't see a thing on it...meh

Take it from a guy who has a calibrated monitor. The iPhone's screen is very close indeed in terms of colour accuracy where as the S2's screen as nice as it is, is far from what constitutes good.

That's the problem, everyone measures "good" for a screen in term of brightness, contrast and colour saturation without actually considering colour accuracy and contrast accuracy. It's like home electrical shops, they're all running with colours boosted high so people go "oooo, look at the colours" just to get a sale.

I haven't used an iPhone 4 enough to argue with you but I don't think the S2 is as bad as you make out. Plus I'm not really sure it's that important in day to day use anyway - it's just a phone. If you're using the iPhone as a tool for displaying your work then it will be important.

I don't think these devices really sit in the "just a phone" category tbh.

I'm not saying it's a bad screen, the point i'm trying to drill home is that there is much more to what constitutes "better" than super bright, super saturated colours. It's marketing shite that Joe Smartphone seems to perpetuate because the manufacturer perpetuates it.

Yeah, I had written quite a long post then my router decided to download some firmware just after I clicked submit. :(

I agree that we are beyond "just a phone" with smartphones but I still don't think people will go out looking for colour accuracy as a main selling point. If they see a screen and think "wow look at that screen" then that's their prerogative tbh.

Of course it is. The problem with "which phone will I buy?" is that you're going to get biased, unproven statements made as fact, one of which being "oh the screen is so much better because the colours look so good". The same argument goes on with TVs, monitors and projectors.
