Iam/was a hardcore blackberry fan. But i just seem to be parting with the whole idea of it.

I'm gonna go to the retail park today, and buy an iphone 4...

Should i? I wanna be able to do everything an ipod can but also text and call. Blackberry games are shite, java isn't supported.

Or do i wait for the so called iphone 5 apparently in september?

Cheers dudes

You know I'm not Apple's biggest fan, but hold off for the iPhone 5 if you're considering an iPhone.
The HTC fanboi in me says get a HTC Sensation. :)

I got a feeling the Iphone 5 will come with their new cloud service. Which will make big brother look like your little sister.

I'm in the same situation, I feel Blackberrys don't really offer anything that an Andriod/iPhone doesn't do better.

I've got the Bold right now, and it's the only one that has lasted the entire contract duration but it's on it's last legs. If the iPhone 5 is definately coming in September I'd say wait for it, but given that they're vague with the release I feel doubtful.

I'm struggling to justify paying for the iPhone 4 (18-24month contract) knowing a new (better?) model is just around the corner :l

I've had blackberrys for the last 4-5 years, I know a ton of people who have them, yet I just never use it. MSN sometimes when I'm bored at work ;l

Anyway, as usual we all get off the topic.

If you want iOS i'd wait for the 5 to be released. If you don't choose to get the 5 the 4 will get a price drop when the 5 hits anyway.

Despite the hate I think the iOS devices are solid. If i did not have a iPad i would be using a iPhone. Android and iOS are now so similar in terms of apps that i think it comes down to customizing and if that is important for you. Android offers you so many ways to change the look of your phone you can change things up daily. The iPhones gives you folders or apps over a wallpaper that's it. If you are the kind of person who sets the phone up and then uses it till you swap it the the iOS device is perfect, it is so easy to master. If you like chopping and changing and trying to improve your phone then you should not look past Android.

But as you said you want a phone with a iPod then the iPhone is the only option, there is plenty of software than makes Android look like a iPod but there is not a phone out there with half the connectivity of the iPhone (Docks, Stereos, Cars ect loads of stuff comes with a iPod connector which offers much more control than a 3.5mm jack). I have heard there is a iPhone lite coming out soon but with the White iPhone 4 selling so well I am not so sure the iPhone 5 proper will be coming out so soon.

Laddey do like this:

1) I like to fiddle about with stuff and personalize my phone - Choose Android

2) I just want to get started and cba if my phone looks like everyone elses - Choose an iPhone

That's what I did. I, at first, was not a fan of the iPhones, but when I was in the shop looking to buy a new phone I was a bit hungover and gf was getting an iPhone so I thought "meh, might as well get me one". As soon as I opened the box the PoS worked and has ever since. I can't complain one bit about my iPhone. And I am not fanboi. I hated iTunes, and still do to some extent, but it has grown on me and it is really easy getting used to

From friends I hear that there are more possibilities with an Android, but also more work. An iPhone is pretty much plug-and-play where an Android is a bit more fiddling, but more personal as from what I can understand

Had mine for about a month now, didnt really want it, but my old SE packed up and we have IP4's at work, so i just went with it

Dont really use it to its full capabitlity tbh, but i'm getting used to it. Was a bit pissed that i couldnt import/bluetooth my contacts and ringtones, but since found an app that sorts the ringtone problem out

Its very handy for email for work, and when my PC died a few weeks ago, it allowed me to get them, but then a HTC will do that for you too

Im not an Apple hater by any means, i have/love my iPod and i have always used iTunes with no problem. I just wanted a phone to make phonecalls on, thats the only reason i'm a bit meh, but i would have been that way with any smartphone i would have ended up with. It just the way things are going i suppose.

Ask me in a couple of months, and i'll probably be 'I don't know how i coped without it'. I'm just getting old i suppose

I would love my old Nokia 6230i again, what a great phone that was

I like the flexibility you get with Android. With a few apps, you can get your phone to look spectacular. I've seen some really beautiful customised lock/today screens. Some of the widgets are amazing. I think many of Apple's apps are a bit more stable, but Android apps are always being upgraded & enhanced. If you go for Android, you really want to go dual core (HTC Sensation or Samsung Galaxy S2). Apple is more portable, as someone mentioned above (everything these days comes with an ipod or iphone dock). At the end of the day it comes down to pure personal choice. Go to an Apple store & play around with a 4, then go to a high street phone store & play with a few androids.

Ignore Edmond on the contacts thing, it's quite easy with googlemail (and I;m sure he had a thread where people showed him this!).... ;p

I've used Android, currently with an iphone, but I'm a whore for shiney new toys and go through them quickly.

I would say that a jailbroken iphone is just as good for customisation as android. That said, between the galaxy2, sensation and ipoo4 there is very little to make one stand out more than the other.

I still wub my X10, especially now it's got Gingerbread on it. I was looking in the Vodafone shop for upgrades yesterday, nothing really struck me as much of an upgrade. The Xperia Arc would be an idea, but it's the same as I've got only a bit thinner, the Sensation and Galaxy S2 looked good too, not much of a step up on what I have tho. I didn't look at Blackberries as they are for criminals, and iPhone owners tend to be massive benders, so I didn't look at those either.

I would like to know how please, i still havent got them all on there yet. I just googled it, but they are talking about using an existing micro sim, or cutting you old one down to fit in the phone

My problem is that i have fucked the old sim, but the contacts are still on the old phone (not the sim) so i need to save them to a sim and transfer them?
