TBH, if they sold it for £25, I still wouldn't get one. I don't want to be dragged at gunpoint into using iTunes on a butt-ugly device where every single app has to have been clinically approved by Apple's Health & Safety Nazi Executive.

It is aimed squarely at killing the market for mid-sized devices such as the £70-£200 Android tablets or Blackberry's Playbook.
That said, Steve's dead and if Apple realistically think they can kill off Android then it could happen. The Apple TV is only £99 for example.Actually the Reg reported on it a while back; rumour came from a screen supplier - I think its supposed 8.1 inch or something like that (so it keeps the current iPad/iPhone form factor to make easier for app dev). The cheap price thing is a new one on me though; seems pretty counter to normal Apple policy, especially when there are ton a cheapo 7" Chinese Android pads out there already.
