At work on one of our machines we seem to be getting this error message and wont allow us to use the internet at all.

res://ieframe.dll/dnserror.htm

Seems to be on IE7 does anyone have any ideas?

It is some kind of virus but we cannot cure it

Thanks in advance

Sorry I should of been more clearer...

I have done all the google searches and with all the help on there nothing seems to work.

we tried re installing IE7, firefox and still the same result.

We pretty much tried everything we possibly can and still finish with the same result.

Although we are just about to try removing ie7 and re installing ie6 to see if that helps.

does it have network access? i.e. can you ping your gateway
you could also try a nslookup to see if it isnt the dns that is problematic :p

Everything works on the network its just IE7 that wont work. It some kind of Virus which we have not found a cure for.

All the other machines on the network are working fine.

Have you tried emptying the cookies, temp files and clearing the SSL Slate?

Yep done that.

At work we have no idea how we got it too.

Checked on the internet and there seems to be quite a few with the same problem.

People come up with a fix but only seems to work for certain people but not all.

At work we have been trying to fix this for almost 3 months now.

Which is why I come on here to see if anyone of you had the same problems :)

So he can spend the next 3 months compiling everything himself? =P
if it's just a work comp put Ubuntu, or Redhat, or even Dreamlinux on it.
