Internet explorer problem.

One of my colleagues has a few pc's at home.

He has recently added another to the network however when he tries to connect to the internet via explorer he gets a 404 error message. He can surf using firefox and windows update is automatically connecting and grabbing updates. Outlook is also getting his emails.

So has anyone come across this before?

Is he getting the 404 from a particular site or every site ?
Does he have any proxy settings configured ?

Every site, his router is configured fine and he can get access with anything else other than Ie.

Check for any proxy settings within IE

Tools > Internet options>connections>lan settings

Would incorrect DNS settings on that PC pring up that error?
