I've tried it, too used to chrome now to change, but it's certainly good.

Holy quick browser batman, that's speedy. And I definitely like the extremely minimalist layout. Good stuff IE! I'll probably stick with FF4 when that's out though. Still, about time they sorted out their shit.

Long overdue they got a version out that is actually close to being a viable contender. The previous two versions were a complete joke at best.

Oh and +rep for using an Arstechnia article, loved that site for a long long time.

Been dabbling with IE9 for a while now. It's pretty good but at the end of the day I can use Chromium 11 on all my computers whether they're Win7, Linux or XP (work) so it's still easier for me by a long chalk.

I just binned firefox because sync just decided to break all my profiles. Bad timing for Mozilla because I was looking forward to FF4.

FF4 (beta) looks very pretty but for me, performance wise, i've not seen any improvement over 3. Plugin container still very very CPU heavy.

Gah, I now remember why I hate Chrome. I hate how it handles HTTP authentication. Lastpass + Firefox = Just works. Lastpass + Chrome = "did you forget your HTTP login, awwww... shame"

That said, now firefox fucked up its own self and I've recreated a new profile, it's just as snappy as it always was.

Aye FF is starting to fall behind badly, the Javascript performance is generally pisspoor now and it just isn't progressing at the rate it should be.

MS will almost certainly get a bollocking for IE9. It ties itself into the OS far, far too much, something you'll notice if you try installing it with ANYTHING open. It demanded that I close mIRC, Steam, Stardock Objectdock, foobar and thunderbird. Updates some DX files too. None of this is required by any of the other browsers.

It certainly is quick though, but not to my taste personally. And support across the board is diabolical website-wise (not entirely MS's fault)

I just got around to trying this out, I see what you mean Kryten - the list of programs it told me I had to close was so long I had to scroll to see them all!

Other browsers I can (grudgingly) understand, but Windows Explorer, Skype, Winamp (??), Truecrypt, Excel (???) and the Catalyst Control Center are all a bit of a mystery.

I think it is slightly more to do with closing programs for the usual reduction in install issues.

Eh? I just installed it with almost all of those programs still running and didn't get a whisper about closing them.

Maybe they updated the installation.
