Moral issues are NOT the only reason why some people make a no-meat diet choice and bashing people for their eating habits gets old so fast.

Ineed. I should tell this to my vegan friends who make me feel guilty for eating steak

Just think of the enviromental benifit cow farts are 1/3 of the methane produced or something lose them and we do not have to try be green!

Could also just lose the americans.

Vegans are like people who found Jesus they tell you not to force your views onto them the whole time trying to force you into there views.

I can guarentee synthetic will = more expensive than feeding a cow and making it have babies and killing said cow for meat. Plus the milk... :p

At the moment yes, but in the future when synthetics become more viable options(if they do!), then they will become cheaper and cheaper as demand/uses/competition increases.

If starting from scratch, making that burger ain't cheap either.

Have to say "some people" who found jesus are like that, but i guess that's given.

By the way, has anyone actually, literally, found jesus yet? I've been doing my part at the local pubs.

tbh i can see the veggies point of not eating meat because of perpetuating bad living conditions for the animals but i think that also so i only buy meat that is organically/free rangedly farmed (i think i just made up a word can you spot which one?) i don't think there is anything wrong with eating meat but keeping animals in squalled conditions and treating them cruelly is something i have a problem with (saw a prog where these guys at a chicken farm were playing football with living chickens...kicking them about i mean, not passing them the ball).

I think if we're going to kill and eat the animal then the least we can do is make sure it had a good life before hand. maybe it seems idiotic to you but its just how i feel.

Do Vegans also walk around naked given that most clothes are made in sweatshops by workers who work 20 hours a day for 5p an hour?

lots of people that call them self vegatarians eats fish here in denmark
theres more than one reason. Example could be that fish is caught in their natural habitat (most are). Another could be that fish are not considered animals generally, because of different factors. 3rd could be meat tastes bad but fish doesnt. fourth could be... bla bla i could go on.
Personally i consider to become a vegatarian. why? The amount of grain and nutrients used to make meat is enormous compared to what it delivers (10% of what an animal consumes turns into something physical we can "eat"). many are doped up with anti-biotics and medicine which in worst case will make the bacteria immune to the medicine, and when we consume the meat we consume the anti-biotics and if it affects bacteria that are harmful for us... well yes you see what will happen.

And then monkeys flew out of my butt. Ain't that something? Seriously, eating meat causes us to be less immune to bacteria? :eek7:

Especially since meat is one of the big reasons we evolved to this point(yes yes, could happen without, didn't)

Vegans and veggies(lesser extent), have no consistency and that's why, one can't take 'em serious.

Veggie:"I don't eat meat 'cause it's inhumane how they treat them!"

Well...you eat fish?

Veggie: "Yes! It's caught naturjally!"

Well...here's some buffalo, killed by a dog, all natural in the prairie!

Veggie: "Eeeeew but i don't eat meat!"

W...what?! You just...

Veggie: "Meat is murder!"

So you eat fish though?

Veggie: "Yes!"

Ok, heres some whale meat, caught by eskimos who've been fishing it for thousands and thousands of ye

Veggie: "Meat murder you evil!!!!1"

Oh f*ck off!

not eating meat. but eating meat drugged up like non-ecological meat is. if you keep doping up cows with anti-biotics eventually bacteria can (and probably will with all this here evolution and whatnot) evolve immunity. we eat the meat, we get the anti-biotics since its in the meat. so yes, its possible.

Well wouldn't that be true with anything? Like, dairy? Are you going to refer from using dairy products altogether? 'cause if not, then you're not really avoiding the antibiotics. Milk actually has more of it, if i remember correctly.

Wrong methods doesn't mean all use them. So not all cows are pumped up.

Just saying so you can think through, not saying what you should do.

Anyhoo, sidenote, there's some new form of heat resistant bacteria coming(according to some research i heard over the radio), so that'll f*ck us up real nice.

How? You know something about the future that we don't?!

I know enough about biology and how research operates to know that the cost of synthetic anything >>>>>>>>>>>>> naturally derrived unless naturally derrived is almost non-existant. And if the cows are all dead then it's highly likely we're up a creek without a certain paddle :p
I also know people who are working on 3D culturing of mammalian cells with the aim of making artificial tissues. Pain in the ass it is!

I have. Well, except that I'm a vegetarian myself, but I went on a week-end where a vegetarian did the cooking, including meat for the 8 non-veggies.
