i dont see a real threat for the future, oil companies and car constructors will most likely start investing in research to create improved engines to combust the oil better and safer.

like they have so far?

all the "improved" engines we have now is just a show for the public, they aint really as good as they make it sound and after a while they can it blaming on something they were fully aware of at the very beginning.

as long as "normal" ppl dont care they wont either. when the car manufacories start loosing BIG money on not making enviromentally sound engines, THEN they wil acually make a serious attempt at it. not before that.
