i dont see why you should take responsibility if you say you dont want the baby an she gets it anyway.

Ah but the point is that should you take(either moral or legal) responsibility when the pregnancy is so far that the baby is coming no matter what. This is if you didn't know about it before.

but! what if he man is raped (yes it happens) and she gives birth to a child, how can he be forced to pay support? :(!

As easy as popping a couple of viagra in the blokes drink. :p

She can then force him to pay support and if he disagrees, she can charge him with rape.

The issue you've highlighted just shows one reasons why casual sex is bad :(

But as to whether the man has responsibilities after being kept in the dark for the whole pregnancy: If the baby is proved to be his, then yeah I believe he has a responsibility morally to provide support either financially or parentally.

Both the man and the woman took part in an act of which one of the outcomes can be pregnancy. They both know this before they did it, and so they have to face their responsibilities if pregnancy occurs. I dont see at all how the guy could walk away and say, its not my problem since you didnt tell me. He would know that there was a chance of it.

Dont get me wrong, I'd understand if the guy felt he'd been really unfairly treated, after all it is a life changing thing. But you cant walk away from a life that you've created just because its "inconvient". Maybe, legally, theres ways round it, but walking away is just walking away from your responsibilities :(

Maybe all these negative things you are bringing up are reasons NOT to have casual sex.

I haven't experianced it personally but it seems to me you are infinite times more safer by just having sex with a gf/bf or just one person in particular.

Well, if you ask me, everything revolving around casual sex is on a very thin strip of line.

Obviously things like being drunk takes you off the line, whilst being sober helps to keep you on it. Always carrying condoms keeps you on the line, having no condom's doesnt.

If you decide to take the risk of her being on the pill, you step off that line and you should then become liable for EVERYTHING that occurs because of this casual sex. The same applies to the woman ofcourse. If you lie to the man that your on the pill or you refuse to let him wear a condom, you should take full liability.

Well some did get it and seem to agree with the "piss off" point of view.
Although I didn't agree with the "piss off" point of view, I did get your point and I believe I answered it as well. In case my post was too long, here's the short version of it: yes, he should, but he isn't required to compensate for the time he wasn't aware of the child's existance.

In the case where a woman "hides" the kid's existance for a prolonged time (prolonged being anything longer than necessary or possible) I think it should be an agreement between the two (three, or more in case of twins/triplets) parties involved, and in no case a demand of one party to one other.
This agreement could be made official by a judge if he hears all the parties involved and their wishes, but if a bloke after two or so years finds out he's a dad and he decides that he wants naught to do with it, then so be it. In that case she should've just mentioned it earlier.
However if the bloke has been unreachable for like 4 years orso and on the first opportunity she gets tells him, (and it's showable that she really did try from the beginning to bring him the news) he should be held accountable just as she. 50/50 there.

^^-- All this provided protection has been used by the way. If the girl lied about being on the pill, then she's 100% accountable imo. If no protection has been used, both are 50% accountable.

I know where you are coming from, but given that the pill is not 100% safe and the guy would agree to go ahead anyway, dont you think he still has responsibility for that 1 or 2%? :)

I think casual un protected sex is a fucking stupid thing but if you do it and do get the girl prgnant i think you should have some rights. I think if the girl says im pregnat and im keeping it, in the early stages the guy should be able to say either ok im with you or i want nothing to do with it. If the guy says im not interested then the woman should not be able to show up 8 months later and start getting child support off you for a kid you did not want.

Sorry if that sounds out of order but a mate back in London is getting stung for child support for a kid that the mother only kept to get a free house. Now he said after about six weeks he wanted nothing to do with it but she kept it to get a house. Now i think when he said he did not want a child there should be a way he can note that down so the mother can not claim shild support.

never ever have unprotected sex, period

unless its someone uve been with for a long time and u know their past...

really never do it..., it can cause u so much pain its just unreal and 1000 times sex without a condom is not worth the potential anquish u can get, be it children or whatever.
