Intelli mouse explorer problems

Just trying to get an idea here -we all love optical mice, my intelli point explorer makes me care about a mouse. However after reviewing threads about problems with Cs locking, and the intelli point explorer being mentioned by every person I felt like sharing - I am on my third intelli mouse explorer, the previous two died. The power cord on this mouse is not secured properly into the rear of the mouse and tends to losen and then lose connection inside the mouse. Yesterday my third one dies after TWO weeks Before they sent me this third one MS said theywere aware of the problem and had fixed it -obviously not, is it just me this has happened to or are there others?

I have gone through 2, but thats not bad for my household as my children when bored play base ball with it.The only probs I get with it are the the thumb buttons tend to cause strange things in CS and Quake 2 and 3.

I got the one thumb button bond to through down a wep and sometimes after throwing a wep down I tend to move sideways without pressing my move keys. lol

In Quake I get stuck in crouch and cant get out of it till I restsart the game.

I have now bond keys to the buttons that I tend not to use much as I cant seem to find a fix for it. lol

Well I've got an Intellimouse Optical as supposed to an Explorer but it does have a few quirks. The strangest one i've come across is if you bind a command in Counter-Strike to either of the side buttons (4 or 5) it seems to work fine. However if you try to repeat the command quickly it refuses to do so, i.e. if u bind one of them to jump you cant repeatedly jump you have to wait about 2 seconds before you can jump again.

This is starting to become very frustrating as i was hoping the extra buttons would spare my keyboard from a little bit of the ritual pounding it takes because of my gaming.

The unit itself though I have had no problems with, the hardware is solid and works fine for me, so i'll prey I dont have to start swapping mine like Ch3tan has.
