Others:-

i) Download mega patchum file 270megs=np
ii) Follow GoA instructions on connecting to beta server (tee hee).
iii) Try to connect and find u need another 10 meg download.
iv) ... and another 1.7meg download
v) Connect again and see 1500+ online so wait your turn in queue.
vi) See 1435 online - but still have to join a queue.
vii) Finally your turn arrives and log onto server, get char to auto /level 33 before server crashes.
viii) Go back to v)
viiii) Repeat from v) ad infinitum

Encouraging aint it.

You could have bought the PC Zone which contains the installer, as I understand it..

12 MB of patching is nothing out of ordinary for DAoC. Yes, the server is full most of the time, but that also goes for people on better connections

Don't have a problem with downloads/bandwidth really, just pissed off with the fact that those of us unable to join the beta bandwagon (some of us actually don't get the opportunity cos of work) having got to weekend then find that the beta is clogged to hell.

I just wish for once that the game gurus would sort this crap out.
