Decided to roll a Sorcerer on another server and off I trotted to an Instanced Dungeon for a bit of easy xp - sadly none of the mobs near the entrance were charmable so my poor Sorc can go no further. Tried an Instance task - success charmable mobs - Task "Clear the Dungeon" this takes some timing as last mob in the dungeon is my pet, so have to make sure he/it is half dead so I can finish it off.

I assume Light Menta's and Minstrels suffer the same problem to a lesser extent.

Any views from game dev's?

Possible solutions I have though of
a) Allow you to Zone with a pet - downside is that zoning with pet would see some OP pets turning up in all areas :)

b) Have release button Kill pet or add a kil pet option (needs to be on some timer to stop ppl clearing dungeons by petting each mob and killing it 20-30mins of owning the pet b4 you can kill it)

Discuss :)

Do not have any big problems as a Minstrel. Just sending my pet into another mob to get killed and finishing whats left from the mob. Then grab another pet. Though I rearly use pet in instance task dungeons, as they leach precious exp. :)

Release-kill would be too powerfull ;), I already see me clearing my way through bunch of red cons :).

You told me you would own me
Why did you try to kill me, all alone
Now you tell me your gonna kill me
When you call your realm mates, on the phone
Boy I refuse, you must have me confused
With some other guy
Your keeps were burned, and now it's your turn
To cry, cry me a river
Cry me a river-er
Cry me a river
Cry me a river-er, yea yea

could not resist :D
