So i'm at a so called turning point here.

Been working in the game industry for about 9 years, seen that. Love to work in the industry, but considering other options.

Looking for new stuff to do.

I love to create things, write, design, cooking, you name it. If i can make something, i enjoy it. Also love technical stuff, human thought patterns etc.

I'm not sure what to do now, thinking about one thing, the other, that that one, so i'm asking for some serious suggestions.

Any suggestions really help, 'cause they give something to think about and maybe i've missed some options. Porn actor, professional bum model and such are not on the list :p

Good, cause you wouldn't be qualified :D

Bus driver on the other hand..? Nah, you have to be sober for that! Atleast according to the law! ;)

CorNokZ is i ever rule a country, you'll be my appointed flakey :p

Just thought about private detective work, layer might be too long of a process, but detective work could be intereting, easy courses(length wise).

Though it's not like it's something to bring home the bacon.

I ask for suggestions of what to cook - you flame me for being a bad partner!

You ask for suggestion of what to do with your life - so can I flame you for failing at life?! :D

How about president for the united states? I hear that the republicans are best, so give them a call.

Heeeey, you can't fail at life but you can suck at parts of it!

You know why i subject your relationship to doubt, you're a smart one :p

Have to be born there, though governor would work.

If you love to create, design etc. why not try for the design side of the games industry if it isn't already cluttered to fuck? Least that way you don't have to invest cash into new training etc.

Some of the best days of my youth were spent working on quests and databases of private servers. Could never do all that coding/hexing shit though :(

Heh, well it is rather hard to get into, granted, but i've done level design/lead design/ concept design for 3-4 years :D

Also i don't have any training as there's no real need for it in games.

How about creating new games / applications using Microsoft's Surface
Some British Scientists have also invented the world's thinnest batteries that weight virtually nothing

Combine a virtually zero weight power source with a flat flexible intelligent touch screen

You could try not being a bell end for a few weeks and see how you get on?

Not being a bell end opens all sorts of doors.

Raven, only people who dislike me are on this forum and it's THEIR problem. Outside this little circlejerk, people don't have anything ad to say about how i am or who i am and you'd be hard pressed to find one person who's even been angry at me.

I'm polite, considerate, calm and collected, never even pushed another person or indeed been pushed(fight wise), and if you met me outside this place you wouldn't have one bad word to say. THAT tells a lot more about this place and how thigns get fubared with some cosmical ways then anything else. People have a VERY wrong picture of me based on this place.

Well, ofcourse that had to come up on this thread. But hey, it's my fault there's arguments :p

And FYI; anyone who's taking potshots at me, has some problems of their own regarding "thread etiquette". Takes two, every time.

Write a game. I'll do the music. There's lots of selfproclaimed coders of awesomeness on there, let them prove it :D

The problem with being creative is, that it doesn´t automatically fill your fridge. Game design is one of the few areas, where creativity meets commercial productivity. If you have been a game designer for 9 years, it would be foolish to let your experience behind and drop out of your professional network.
Instead, try to think about new concepts. Not just game No. 15456310. Try something new, try new platforms, new technology. Remember the thread about this tabletop screen I posted a couple of days ago? I bet that in 5 years, this thing is going to hit the market. Why not work on something for this technology now, so you have a headstart?
I´ve got a whole bunch of rough ideas in my drawer and all it takes is time to shape them up and get things going. So... :)
