Let me guess: Egos got out of control then as per the article, the guys at Infinity Ward felt they were untouchable. They crossed the corporate line once too often and some pen pusher at Activision who now fully own Infinity Ward decided it was time to put them down.

I may be missing some details but I'd be surprised if I'm too far from the mark.

Can't say I disagree with this really and lets face it, despite the comments under the article explaining what a crying shame that such an original development team is dispersing because of the big bad wolf cash cows who now own them, IW are a franchising company, themselves just milking the cash cow of the same games over and over.

While I feel for the smaller developers in the company, I wont be loosing any sleep over this, despite aiming to break into the market myself...

The entire game should be based on the Brits, I don't say that out of blind bias either. The characters work and the story is so much stronger. Anyone hear rumour of a spinoff game based on the 'Ghost' character?

The American characters are always getting irradiated! Not a bad thing of course, but it would help if it made *some* sense why one of our aforementioned Brits pushed the button in MW2. Still can't wrap my head around that particular conundrum.
