Is indigestion like hangovers - i.e. gets worse with age?
I never had indigestion until about six months ago, and since then I've had it a few times and it's been absolutely horrendous - keeping me awake for hours on end and not responding at all to indigestion tablets. Feels like someone has got my stomach, twisted it round and plaited it in between my ribs.
Case in point - last night woke up at 1am with bad indigestion - took 2 rennie. 30 minutes later got worse, took 4 rennie. 30 minutes later, even worse, took 4 rennie and a zantac. In the end I was in so much pain that I burst a couple of blood vessels and gave myself a right scare.
It's now midnight one day later, and I feel the indigestion coming on again - 2 rennie so far, no effect (run out of zantac
) Haven't eaten anything since 7pm (half a pizza).
Am I just making a meal of this (excuse the pun) - does everyone get indigestion like this after a certain age?
