Why? :eek7:

I mean, why think about it.

So 2/3 gets discarded. Or is this a "it's wrong to the fish" kinda thing?

If i don't eat free fish because of this, it doesn't change a damn thing.

however miniscule it may be, demand for the fish will go down.
enough people stop eating it, demand for it goes down.

guess the way the fishing industry is atm it wont take long before its all farmed anyways, as they kill off more endangered species.

2/3 of all catch. thats so fecking high

generally hate all sea food so i wouldnt buy it anyway, but im against the needless killing of wildlife.

enough people would be like 90% of the world saying "erm no k, i aint eatin no tinned tuna"

thats not gonna happen, so on an individual scale you may aswell keep on trucking.

but you can choose wich brand you eat, and be willing to pay a little more for quality and ethics, but as always price takes presidance...

not sure about about commercial fishing but for rod and line fishing there are sizes that a fish must be for you to take it away etc, so if the fish are to small the have to put back, alive or dead...i assume its the same for commercial fisherman.
Also the large fish that are put back are fish that people dont tend to want to buy, so the trawlers dont want to waste space, which could be used for more valuable fish.

how long does it take them to sort through a THOUSANDS strong catch of fish.

how long does it take for a fish to stop breathing out of water.
