lol still not going to watch it; couldn't be less interested in this if I tried! I get like that with movies, people rave about them and go on and on about how amazing they are and I just cannot summon the effort to watch the sucker.

Like with the king's speech, I absolutely adore Colin Firth (omg, colin firth Mmmmm), everyone I know who has seen it says it is a brilliant and highly enjoyable film but still nothing on earth could get me to watch that movie.

Mind me asking what makes movies go on your "No way can be arsed" list?

Poster? Premise? Random dice at the backalley of a hooters?

this sounds horrible lol but tbh anything with leonardo dicaprio generally goes on there, also colin farrel *shudder*, anything 'serious' 'harrowing' 'thought provoking' or is not actually going to just entertain me (so, again another film that I've heard is really good and everyone raves about, Black Swan nuh huh nope, not my bag baby!)

I might watch a kind of serious film (and by that I mean dirty Harry or the new True Grit is really appealing to me and that's kind of a serious puppy) but if it doesn't have battles, explosions, cartoon characters, aliens/beasties, guts'n'gore and stupid jokes tbh it's unlikely I'll enjoy it.

TBH any worries you have about it being too serious are going to be proven very wrong. From what you have described in your post you are going to love it!

Having seen that, true grit, black swan and the social network I have to say the social network should definitely win best picture. But it wont becuase the academy cream their pants over British period pieces.

Tbh I think Leonardo has starred in quite a few good movies in the last 10 years or so. I had the same stance on him earlier in his career (as you have now ) but have been converted! Blood Diamond, The Departed, Inception and Gangs of New York are all really good imho.

i dont remember if i already posted this but... i thought inception was cack
