I felt a little let down tbh. It was okay, but after all the buzz and hype about it I was expecting a supreme piece of cinema.

I put him in the same bag and above this other films with similar theme:

- Dark City
- Level 13
- Open your eyes (not the crappy remake "Vanilla Sky")
- Memento

Gonna try and rewatch it this week, theres a lot of issues I need to revisit :)

I agree with vasc, it was very very good. some people won't like it, but it's clearly one of the best films of the last 10 years.

Despite some inconsistencies I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Explain?

If you say something to do with like, a spoon being on the table, and in the next shot its gone, you can leave.

The film is great, it's a great concept, much better than 90% of the trollop that seems to make it to cinema nowadays!

Shame it only transferred into a good movie.

It went along nicely, but at the 3rd stage, meeh, hit a bit of a snag.

Meh! I was left with a "gifv moaaar" feeling. Lots of unfinished bussines for a 2nd movie :)

Well, that could be a problem with it as well.

It doesn't give off any wibe of being a series, yet leaves some things off as such.

All i can say that at about half way, not sure, should watch again, it stopped the climb and steadily rode the level it was in, while the bottom half was making you ready for a mount everest conquering climb.

Sooooo.... tempting :D

I'd better spoiler this...

When Decaprio's char was stuck on the lowest dream level he decided to go off and find the oriental chap and as it turns out just by using the totem he jumped (possibly) back up to being awake. However, every other person in the film had to jump back up through the various dream levels in sequence to get out. Thats just the start.

Never mind whether he did or didn't, his character *believed* that this would get him out. He's the big expert on how the dream manipulation works and he's defying the entire logic of his character. Dying in every level except the highest level dream means you die in real life (as he explained earlier). However, they were getting out of several levels down how? By shooting each other? And even if it did get them out of that level, it should only boot them up to the next level, not all the way out. Why didn't Mr Oriental just shoot himself before that? Why by having Decaprio there is he magically able to undo all the previously carefully built up logic?

For the ending to be happy, Decaprio would have to ignore this logic. If we take it that the logic holds, then he never left and the ending with the totem would indicate such.

But even if he never left, his character would not have believed that killing themselves would get them out or that even if it didn't that it would do anything other than get them up to the next level of dreaming.

There were a few others things but I'd have to watch it again to jog the memory.

Most of my friends were like either "INCEPTION!!" or "BEST MOVIE EVER! I N C E P T I O N ! ! !" or some other shit on Facebook..

Was really good, but I didn't feel like shouting it at everyone I passed afterwards

Dont think thats a hole in the plot, more like an unanswered (yet) question.

However, THIS is rly a hole in the plot:

Soooo Sato, this magnate of the energy bussines, with enough power to even buy out entire airlines companies, wants to plant an idea in his main competitor.
Ok, so they come by in the airport, in the same airplane and Fisher doesnt recognaise him? Rly? The 2 top men of energy bussines, and Fisher does not know how Saito looks?
I might even accept that Fisher didnt realize Saito is in the same airplane cabin than him (odd tho). But, when he meets Saito in his dream, Fisher doesnt stop and say "Hey! Its you! What are you doing in my dream?".

lol still not going to watch it; couldn't be less interested in this if I tried! I get like that with movies, people rave about them and go on and on about how amazing they are and I just cannot summon the effort to watch the sucker.

Like with the king's speech, I absolutely adore Colin Firth (omg, colin firth Mmmmm), everyone I know who has seen it says it is a brilliant and highly enjoyable film but still nothing on earth could get me to watch that movie.
