Clienttrace is to do with hitboxes. The previous setting was 3.5 which is far more forgiving than 1 is. I.e. it will now be a bit harder to get headshots and you will have to be a bit more accurate. Reducing it to 1 should have the effect of reducing the constant cries of "aimbot" since headshots will decrease now.

thats the advantage, but now hpb's with the slightest bt of skill will be whoreing the servers, using small, but annoying amounts of bandwidth

well since its changed I havent noticed a single difference in how the BW servers are, I still get just as many headshots and I still hit people as before.

As for the cheating thing, as far as I can see its still possible to get a stupid amount of headshots from spraying. So I dont think cries of cheat will die down either.

The only thing worrying me about bworld cs servers is their current popularity, bworld used to all be full always, now i find its uk2 jolt and demon that seem to have a fair share of gamers, also add BY to that. Need to get the gamers back on, when i speak to most 'top' gamers about bworlds the first thing they say is to many cheats. This problem can be addressed by good adminning, we seem to have plenty of admins but are they around much?
I personally havent seen that many admins around in IRC, certainly not many compared to the 20 or so were supposed to have. I know some admins just go to a server without saying anything to check out a cheat, but it would be better if they did, that way you wont get 2 or 3 admins going to deal with the same problem.

Anyway I wont turn this into a conversation about admins.

CT1 is fine for me and most others I expect, it will be harder for HPB's but its nothing that cant be solved, just give it a bit of time to get used to it and youll be just as good as before. Remember the old netcode where hpbs had to predict ?
Now that was a pain in the arse for hpbs, but everyone coped then, CT1 is small fry to that

Only anecdotal evidence but I was on the the Dual Duster last night for around 90 mins and didn't notice any difference ?

I am HPB so I struggle anyway but there seemed to be as many headshots as ever.

Well imho it's still because they changed the server IPs & Ports, the servers were far busier before all that went on.
