I just put a new IDE HD caddy in my machine, and moved my WD Caviar into it. I restarted the PC, it loaded into Windows 2000 but at the point when it should draw the background and start loading the desktop (immediatly after the blue progress bar finishes), I can hear the HD 'click' (an awful scary sound that one) and then i get BSOD with an error with imagehlp.dll.
A quick search yields nothing obvious or telling, the Drive is set to Cable Select and was previously on the slave point on the IDE cable, the only difference was moving it to master for the caddy (due to space restrictions). I've put it back as it was now, caddyless, and it's working fine. Just wondered if anyone knew of a reason that could be causing it?
Surely changing from master to slave or vice-versa shouldn't matter?
