Dogs are emotionally and intellectually crippled. They shit all over the place. They can do absolutely *nothing* without their owner's help - they need 'taking for a walk' etc, because if you just open the gate they'll fuck off and not come back. They chase cars, and often parts of their own body. If you don't feed them, they'll starve because they're too crap to get their own food. The entire concept of a domestic dog is essentially a mutated wolf with all its intelligence, cunning and guile bred out of it, so that it will just do what its told.

Cats are independant, capable of feeding, cleaning, and entertaining themselves. If they want a walk, they'll go for a walk. If they want food, they'll go find some food. They can climb trees and navigate pretty much any terrain you give them, as well as jump from very tall buildings and land on their feet. In some countries, they are treated as spirits of kings or gods. And, let's not forget, they have the common sense not to eat their own shit and/or puke.

Not a difficult decision really.

What about Guide dogs, Sniffer Dogs etc. Can't exactly see them as being dumb. Then again i've never seen a cat doing anything that important, they just seam to get stuck up tree's.
