Damm Post Office decided they wouldn't ring my bell so I got to go and collect it tomorrow.

They probably didn't even come. They did that to me once. The sorting office closes at 12pm, which is a gay time for everything (including mid-day).

Post Office did that to me too! I was at home all day and I went to collect my post and there was the delivery card. They didnt even bother to ring the door bell!

right-click on the game you want to backup in steam > backup games...

was only added fairly recently i think.

I do this and it creates the files and everything. I then open the file and it runs properly which is great.

I burn it to DVD and then try and run it from the DVD and I get an error!!!
Ive now wasted 2 DVD's on this!

So Ive now created 7 files to burn onto CD. I still get an error after I have burnt the disks!

FFS!!!!

hmmm...first file runs if I copy it off the CD. But it gives me and error when trying to copy it off the DVD.

Would steam allow me to download HL2 again if this backup doesn't restore??

Yeah, your purchase is linked to your account. You can download it whenever you need.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. I've downloaded NAV for the last few years directly from Norton, and they only allow you to download it free for a year. Valve might be more friendly however.

My backup crashed about 90% of the way through the restore... :/

So Ive had to re-download HL2...wasn't too bad I suppose as I just set it to run overnight.
