I got 29.

I am therefore a shit driver. Funny though, I haven't got a clue what a 'Toucan' crossing is, having been taught to observe Zebra and Pelican crossings. I have never towed a caravan (nor will I ever), so couldn't answer that one either.

There are so many roadsigns on the roads these days I reckon its getting more difficult to observe them all. Mind you, if people drive according to signage only, then sooner or later they're going to have an accident.

I got 32, so at least I passed.

I didn't know what a Toucan crossing is either nor for that matter have I ever driven anywhere near trams. I also guessed incorrectly the stopping distance on ice.

I took both tests in the first i scored 35 and in the second i scored 34.

Does this make me Michael Schumacher?

Passed my test 6 years ago with a 14 day intensive course (including theory test)

30/35. I got the tram one wrong, but I've never been near one and I dont remember them being in the highway code when I sat the test. Also the effect of air pollution (wtf has this got to do with driving ability??) and finally the warning strip being on a skip. Cant say Ive seen them on skips.

Not bad considering.

The thing is, Skips aren't meant to be left in the road anyway. And I was always taught that if they were, they were supposed to have reflectors and a battery lamp.

Have driving standards improved at all since theory tests were introduced? I can't see it. I still see people every day sat waiting to turn right, with their wheels already turned ready to go. Tailgating seems to be a more frequent experience, I see young inexperienced drivers braking in corners all the time, people don't know the speed limit in a NSL single/dual carriageway, how the streetlight rule affects the speed limit, etc etc.

The question about the Caravan was a complete guess, as was the one about Trams.

Come on, what the fuck, how about more relevant questions regarding safety and not shite questions about Trams. People should go through practical tests for a) changing a tyre b) topping up screenwash c) checking tyre pressures d) checking tyre wear.

G, in the practical, you do those type of things your talking about. apart from changing a tyre. i assume they left that out because of the cost of the examiners time having to wait around for you to do it.

Ah they must have changed it since i've done it, glad to hear they're doing those sorts of critical things.

I still think tyre changing is quite an important one, perhaps skid control too? Might be getting into the realms of advanced driving.

I think you're right, skid control should be a part of it. I don't think it is as much that it is advanced technique, more that it would cost too much. :(

Fuuck, 25/35, and I'm about to do my Military Driving exam. Best brush up on the old theory :)

Though I did almost get full marks for hazard perception...didn't do that for my civvie test!

*feels old*

Total Number of Test Questions 35
Number of Complete Questions 35
Number of Incomplete Questions 0
Number of Flagged Questions 0

As with G, the tram and caravan questions were complete guesses. I actually scored better on this than I did in my real theory. :\

A toucan crossing is one where both pedestrians and cyclists can cross. I think it's monitored by a motion sensor of some kind, so it stays red until you've crossed. And doesn't flash amber at you - just goes through the normal traffic light pattern.
I had to do the theory test a few years back, and it doesn't look like I'm ever going to manage to forget all that useless information...
