Finally bought HL and CS after weeks of deliberating (mainly cos loads of peeps seem to be saying it's dying) and now find I'm a n00b again.

Anyway, just wanted to say 'yo der mofos I 0wnZ j00!!!!"!!!!" as I now have another forum to spam in. :)

/me wanders off to find all those maps I don't have. :(

Been playing for an hour now and in the rare occasions I've actually managed to connect I've managed to kill one person. :(

I've completed Half-Life before and run through the CS training mission. They're the only single-player bits available, aren't they?

Buy/Play Half-Life:Opposing Force as well, and Blue Shift if youve got £15 to spare. If your still gagging for more SP fun, look for the Azure Sheep, Sweet Half-Life, Case Closed or Todesangst SP MODs.

After that, there's always Sven Co-op, a MOD which allows you to play specially made SP Half-Life levels (and the original game) online cooperativiely, try it, it kicks ass!

Azure sheep is utter crap - Blue Shift should have been free and Sven Coop is full of lamers :rolleyes:

I play Sven-coop all the time, and, yes, the blocking llamas are a problem, but you can live with it, if anything the LAG is Svencoop's main problem.

Oh, and SomeGuy, i forgot to mention, if oyu cant find those MODs goto Hangar 16 ...

cant wait till 2.0 comes out, will have some big games i think.

2 player sven coop is great. the maps arent impossable, but you have to work together alot more.


of course when the one of you who knows how to play the map series 'svencoop' dies at a crucial moment, and you let the weird friendly alien die...
then he come sback, and you say 'uumm, does it matter if i let the alien thing die...?', and he says 'aaarrgghh! NOOO!!!' .....

svencoop is great tho :)

Whoa! What a lot of stuff! Thanks, Dan. I got OpForce with meh HL: Generation bundle and I've been playing that for the last two days (I will try CS again soon... someday...)

I'll check out the links and mods you kindly provided too.

Oh, and btw SomeGuy, it sound like you sped through HL pretty fast, you ain't playing on Easy are ya?? (Or Medium for that matter...)

Hmmm.... thats why it only took you 2 days (tho half life never was a long game). Medium is ok to start off with, but HARD mode is what the competent games player should be playing on (tho i do know HL better than anyone else alive, meaning i kick ass at it, leading to some absolutely L33T scores on Svencoop :) ).

On a lighter note, now that you've completed HL and Op4, You'll understand all my half-life yokes!!! :D

1) Im h8 stadium, horde and all the other arena maps and avoid them at all costs.

2) Yes, i know anyone can be 1337 by getting scores in the hundreds, the nature of the gameplay says this, however, what i mean is that I spend the vast majority of my time riding the top of the scoreboard with scores well above the other players.

I didnt want to boast, but you made me. ;)

And that was on my l33t BTOpenWank ADSL which magically makes ppl teleport round the map :) Although tbh my kil/death ratio was about the same as yours.

I'm going to cook my Alcatel frog in a fennel and radish sauce, serve it with a pleasant Chardonnay and then do a big fucking shit on it.

/me digs out an l33t winmodem so he can play games again :)

Yeah some of the pings and Pl users of BT Openworld get, they really would get a better game using 56k.

As a fellow sufferer I can only sympathise.

HG14 seems to be the best of the unlocked HGs though, so might be worth jumping on there and trying it.

I'm on HG16, which gives me pings of 110 in the evenings. Jumping to HG14 gives me pings of around 35, with no packetloss.
