IIS Intranet

[LTF]

Have added a website to an IIS server with the following details:

ip 192.9.200.102
port 80
hostname intranet

When i type in the ip in internet explorer it brings up the default homepage. If i try the hostname i.e. http://intranet, i get 'page cannot be displayed' :/

Where have i gone wrong?

thought they were pretty much redundant now?

It was just a wild stab in the dark. I'm not really sure, but I thought the machine had to know that intranet meant 192.168.0.102 before that linking would work. How you actually do it is another matter.

So the machine is called Intranet?

If you type localhost does it work?

Do you have a firewall running?
