Pay for it...CD's being to expensive used to be the excuse now with sites like Itunes and more speicalised download sites selling songs for like £0.79 you have no excuse.

To this end I have dedicated my sig to this cause!

Songs for 79p, so roughly £9 for an album is still a feking rip off, 50% more on average than the Americans pay.

Albums are probably cheaper? I don't know I don't bother with popshit sites ;)

Nah; for 2 tacks on all the new CDs I'd rather not. If people made a CD with all good tracks, perhaps.

You get hit by the law bat?

EDIT: Gamah, £2 a track, 10 tracks = £20... rofl... CDs with 11 tracks are £9.99

£2/track is for speicalised underground dance music? not for your britney spears collection. £2 for a 320k/s track is well worth it? are you like on £3/hour where you work?

like $7 for an album..thats what 3.50/4 quid?
sure its cheap. But buying from allofmp3 wont give the artist a penny. They are getting closed all over the world as its just a russian pirate company earning easy money. Its illegal to buy from them in Denmark.

Totally depends on what it is... I am not gonna pay 80 cents, or even 50 cents for a crappy 256kb mp3, and I'm certainly not gonna pay for that DRM-"enriched" shit most companies offer.
If I think it's worthwhile paying for I want CD (or vinyl) quality, and so I buy the CD itself. But then again, I don't buy pop music. If I want to listen to that I'll turn on the radio.

[EDIT]
I also don't think that the work those pop-musicians do should earn them millions and millions of dollars.... sure, they make a decent song but it's not that much of an achievement. making a bit more than the average person? sure, but how much those guys make is just unreasonable.

Also, nice discussion about this all (well, mostly about DRM) here:

nah, I think those triggered the current ads:

"Stop Lying" [YourBadHabits.com]
"Lie Detector Tests" [Guyheseltine.co.uk]
"Behavior Analysis" [rovertech.com]

cos that ad was there before your post before me :D

why do you feel the need to ram your shitty pop music (yes...dance music is pretty much just happy clappy pop these days) down our throats? i couldnt care less if you buy your MP3s from some web site. when i used to listen to it it only came on vinyl or live recorded tapes from raves. these days i download most of my music from torrents, unless its an artist that i am particularly fond of, in which case i will buy the CD from play.com.
