Star Trek Marathon.

Star trek II, IV, VI and VIII back-to-back. Ok, so you have to suffer the whales one, but it's got to be worth it when they also give you a free ticket to the preview of IX :)

/me books his seat.

Any anti Star Trek fans please sod off back to your little Sabrina watching holes ;)

That'd probably manage to kill me in any other cinemas, thank god Cineworld is so comfortable!

*considers going*

I don't mind admitting I went to the I thru IV marathon many years back, 9 hrs of viewing, but in my case it was fine as I'd never seen II, III and IV.

Distinctly remember catching the night bus at 3am and at the next stop the entire Rocky Horror Show crowd got on board, a curious mix of Trekkies and Transvestites :)

Hehe. I went to a marathon of IV, V, VI and then VII was the new film coming out so it ended with the preview of that. Still remember my friend getting chucked out for cheering a little too loud when *SPOLIER!!* Kirk Died. *SPOLIER!!* :)

Sleep through I (There's a massively bland cloud moving towards the Earth at an incredibly ho-hum speed and we've got to reach it before the audience falls asleep!), watch II, nip out for a burger during III and I've forgotten what the others were like :/

Wow, you get to see a preview of Insurrection!! (ST IX) ;)

I'm looking forward to Nemesis and I'm already tying my hands behind my back to stop myself downloading it when it goes out in the US

I want to see Nemesis, FFS :(

UK Release - 3rd January, but don't want to see it then cos all the kids will still be off school, so will have to take the day of work when they go back :(

----------

As a side note is it (socially) acceptable to go to the cinama by yourself? :)

Phew, that was an effort. Star Trek IV is always hard to sit through. A few too many one liners. But the best bit is, I've now got my two letters to exchange for tickets to a preview showing of Nemisis on the 2nd of January :)

I'm sorry, but when you spend your entire day watching Star Trek you really should be thinking about getting out more.

I had to go outside to go the cinema and had a nice lunch in the local pub, plus a Maccy D's in the evening. That's more than I've been outside in a long while. So in this case the marathon did me good :)

The old Star Trek films don't seem to be as good as the newer ones.

I'm afraid the initial reviews rate ST Nemesis one of the worst in the series. As bad as ST 5.

Shame that. Not really the fitting swansong for the NG crew. :(

Well, so long as it isn't as shockingly poor as ST III....

I'm not big on Star Trek at all myself, but the films are usually better fare. Apart from ST III.

They do Star Trek films????

The Bastards.

We should make a General Forum version and call it Sar Trek.

Three and a half hours slowly zooming, and occasionally rotating, around into Sar's ear...

I'd buy it.

No.

Bah, 90% of the reviews made by fans say that while it doesn't beat First Contact it is one of the best star trek movies they have seen.

Personally I wouldn't trust any reviews until I've seen it myself. Most critics have been biased anti-trek people since they saw the first film, specially when you have some reviews criticising the film because it has a jeep chase and the jeep has a steering wheel?! in the 23rd centuy surely not

So as I say if you are/were planning on going to see the film then go see it and judge it for yourself :)

No, I think this time the film may well be shats. I'm a HUGE ST fan and I must say that the trailer was bollox.

These reviews were by Trekkies as well as mains stream peeps.

I think I'll just wait and get the DVD.
