Mm tbh i'd love to do a tour of Europe there are so many places i'd like to see, Barcelona, prague, venice, florence, paris (though not when theres a riot lol), and theres a place in france which i can't spell but they have this amazing ecosystem its like a tropical country and its home to the Koypu which i'd love to see.

but seeing as i've never been anywhere in europe i can't advise on where you should go, wherever you decide though i hope you like it :)

sunderland - so i could laugh my tits off at everyone everyday :)

nah tho seriously.. newcastle, something for everyone, not that much crime if u stay outta west end :p nightlife is legendary, 2 huge shopping complexes nearby (eldon square and metrocentre about 20 mins away), concert venues, 2 universities, sporting venues, and surrounded by countryside as well.. oh and beaches nearby as well for when its hot, whats not to like?

newcastle for commonwealth games imo!

My ideal city would have no cars in it, no drunks roaming the streets in the evenings, lots of sports facilities, closeness to and intergrating with nature, close to some large body of water, lots of museums and theaters, bookshops, historical sites, fiberoptics in every building - does such a place excist? :)

I`m living quite close to Cologne. Pretty awesome city IMO, lots of culture, pubs, theaters etc.etc. Don´t know anything about the crimerate compared to other cities, but I reckon it´s nothing to write home about.
But isnt half of Köln gay? ;)

Gothenburg, Sweden.

Born and rooted here, i couldn't imagine living anywhere else in Europe really. :) Family, friends, good night life, always close to nature, warm bathes in the sea in the summer, very friendly people, best hockey team in Sweden, best metal scene in Sweden.

Only thing one could ever wish for was a big mountain somewhere close with skiiing in the winters. Add that and you get Vancouver, but since that's Canada and not Europe.. Gothenburg it is!

Pretty fond of Paris if it has to be outside the UK (although personally I reckon there's a market for teaching EAFL to a lot of today's younger English generation), otherwise my choice would be to live in Edinburgh :)

If I could go anywhere in Europe tho, I reckon I'd try Venice or Florence or somewhere else in Italy.

Edinburgh's nice - thats where I'd move to in Britain, but as I'm moving to Vancouver soon, its not really a contest ;)

But, but, but, that means you're leaving the metropolis which is Leeds which, since I was born there and I've lived 10 miles away from it most of my life, is actually a pretty great city these days.

Used to be bloody awful tho when I was about 10 :)

Countryside > any city :)
Can't imagine living any place where you don't get to enjoy the lovely -30 degrees cold winter days!
On a serious note though, Visby would be nice, rly liked it the times i've been there.

Never !!

You need to go 22 miles north-east for a decent city. :p

Okay, I did pass my Geography O Level but it was a long time ago, going 22 miles NE of Leeds would put you somewhere round about York?

Or is that a bit further away and you're somewhere near Harrogate, which was still a town last time I looked!?

/me confused and geographically challenged.

If it's York btw then I agree, it's a gorgeous city but it's still not as swanky as Leeds is these days :)

Aye it's York......the best place to live in England.

Except on Saturday night when every asshole from the north of England comes for a piss-up. :(

We have a Wolverines/Purple Warriors/Shadow Crusaders/all other assorted miscreants meet at the end of April but so far we're intending to go raid York on Saturday not Leeds.

Last time we had one - half of the guild were chucked out of the Cockpit - was awesome :D

Think we're just gonna stick to the quieter(ish) pubs - Palace, Wrens, Horse and Trumpet, then go to the Garage/Cockpit for all-round ear-drum bustage.

i would also like to point out, middlesbrough is good. regardless of it being voted one of the shittest cities in england. i used to live near the area voted the roughest place in england aswell. god knows how, i was sure moss side was worse.

but if you live on the outskirts its pretty posh, as long as its not stockton (they always call them selves middlesbrough, the scruffy twats).

put all that aside, its a good place.

That the one that has the pub next door to the club down by the Dark Arches near the railway station?

We had our last Avalon-rpg meet (held in Leeds that is) in there on the Friday night back in 2000 :)

Just remember not to try and get into any pub all at the same time.........stagger it a bit or you wo'nt get in and some neanderthal bouncer will put out an early warning.

"Banned from one,Banned from all !" :p
