There is a poll on the forums of my Lotus club at the moment, about who you would vote for if there was an election tomorrow. It's having a fairly interesting result, so I thought that I would duplicate it here and see what came up.

Conservative, Wouldn't vote for labour if you paid me. Though in truth they are all equally useless. Would vote UKIP if i thought it would make any difference

Conservatives, they deserve another shot and Labour deserve to be shot.

No more than two terms for anyone, and no one else has a hope in hell of getting in so why waste your vote?

Get the scum out for the next best thing, maybe the Conservatives will be shit too, but it would take a lot of effort to be worse than Labour this time around.

Conservative.

It would be interesting to see if those who voted Conservative were always Conservative voters or if they swing.. as it's hard to judge from forums as I suspect a lot of people on here are naturally Conservative anyway.

Hehe Raven that's almost the exact same coment as appeared on the Lotus forum. One said, "So Lotus owners are mostly all tories then?" and someone replied, "Yes, we work for a living..."

Tory, but then I always have been a Tory voter. Bought up to believe that you should work hard and pay your own way in life.

I voted other because I'd rather vote for the candidate that best represented my needs, and that isn't necessarily the conservative party, although if I were forced to vote for a party it would be Tory.

Personally though I don't think Cameron has what it takes to lead his party.

Good chance they will, not with a large majority though, but that's probably not a bad thing.

You think the Tories will get in this time?

Its certainly a possibility, although an election is quite far off.

Gordon Brown is a twat though. Also the fact hes Scottish shouldn't make a difference, but it will.

Tory, but then I always have been a Tory voter. Bought up to believe that you should work hard and pay your own way in life.

So was I but unfortunately the Conservative party completely obliterated the main industries where I live in the 1980's and after living through the abject misery of the Thatcher Years I dread another Tory goverment. I realise some people here are too young to remember this (and apologies for sounding like a patronising tard btw).

The bullshit about "I vote tory as I work for a living" yadda yadda etc is amusing as Labour have moved further and further to the centre/right the longer they have been in power.

Now before I'm tarred and feathered by the predictable pre-req of Tory/BNP voters on FH this might interest you -

I have voted Labour all my life. Back when I was more of an arrogant pillock I punched a mate in the face when he confessed he had voted Conservative. Such was the ingrained hatred of the Tories here. Thatcher was on a par with Saddam and Hitler back then, she wasn't just the leader of the Tories, she WAS the Tory Party.

So then we have the grey years of Major and his cronies and thankfully they were washed away by Blair. I still kept on voting Labour finally rejoicing that they were in power.

And now Cameron is the first Conservative I have ever had any respect for. Grudingly I actually am starting to respect him and this is something I thought would never happen. I was actually in a bit of shock when I realised I considered for 0.0002 seconds VOTING for the Tories. Whatever people say about him I thought hell would freeze over before that would happen.

I think Blair/Brown have long since outstayed their welcome. They have become the Conservatives of the 80's-90's acting as if they can get away with anything and no one can stop them. It's time for change I just don't know exactly what can fill the void as after all I've just said they are as bad as each other.

Lib Dems? Good in local elections, our council is now Lib Dem for the first time and its been remarkably better. But in government? Never happen - they took 3 steps backwards putting that old duffer Campbell in.

Ah fuck it bit of a rant, I don't usually bother sticking my oar in here anymore as it falls on rabid ears but what the fuck :)

Xtro, I do understand where you're coming from. I was a Labour voter since the second Thatcher government.

But its only now we begin to see the truth of the Labour ideology. There is a law coming out every bloody day. We are so closely governed it scares me.
There are more and more taxes every day. Anything they want you to do, they do so by taking money from you.

Im not saying the Tories are the greatest thing since sliced bread, but at least the theory of letting the man in the street get on with it should emerge after a year or two of government, just the same as the theory of control every waking second of everyones lives has emerged after a year or two of Labour government.

As far as industry in the eighties goes, I remember those days too. What I dont remember though is the strike-ridden seventies, and the disaster that was some British industries. Maybe what people have said about a bitter pill to swallow having good ends is actually true, much as it pains me to say it. (MAYBE, I cant be sure).

Nowadays of course, we dont have any industry at all. What has Labour done to change that in the last years of being in power? Nothing really.

Labour took us into the war in Iraq, just the same as the Tories would have done. Labour appear to have abandoned the Marines in Iran. I dont think the tories would have done that.Labour fight well enough from behind Uncle Georges' skirts, but dont appear to have any bollocks of thier own. Not sure Maggie would have behaved in the same way.

I dunno, I feel a great change is needed in this country. Im sure you know my views on tree-hugging namby fuckers ruling my life. Its time for a Change.

I'm actually a conservative member, nationally, locally and at uni so I'm hardly going to be neutral in my feelings but at the moment it just feels that we need a change as the UK is being bullied by a country that should in any other circumstances respect and fear us but that was lost after the phony war. The population feels its being bullied by its own government and that its stealing our hard earned paper route money to give to the druggies and whores. We are seen as soft, Blair is in a weak position and the country is just so dissolutioned with everything at the moment its like we are collectively giving up on everything as its all falling to bits from education, health, social order, defence etc etc...

The only wasted vote is one which is not cast...

I agree there needs to be a change but I don't believe Cameron is a good leader.
I could not vote for a Party with him as its leader. I think it would be an enourmous mistake.

If the BNP ever get a sizable proportion of the vote in this country i'm revoking my citizenship. I will never choose to belong to a country which votes for racist, bigoted fuskwits.

Might as well leave now, plenty of racists and bigots living here now. Just a matter of time...

I don't think there is a decent party to vote for at the moment. Cameron is Blair light, i wouldn't mind so much if he would actually answer a question and let us know what his policies are, so far i've seen nothing but wishy washy answers from him hedging his bets and giving soundbites about wanting to do more for the environment and hugging kids. Nothing concrete, no answers, and in this way he is 10 times worse than blair ever way. The Lib dems aren't a valid opposition, they just can't get it right, even their leadership selection is bizarre, they have a number of young, media savvy members who could out blair Cameron on TV, but chose a safe old dodderer, it's as if they are scared of getting any real power.
As for alternatives, BNP are just a rebranded NF and full of Right Wing bigots and thinly veiled racist policies wrapped up in a thin veneer of patriotism.
The greens are a nice european protest vote, but their policies are a joke, as are the UKIP (haven't they gone bancrupt?) and anythng else is just bad.

Personally unless i move i'm voting Labour, because our local mp is by all accounts really good and fights for his constituents and listens to them, which is exactly what i want from an MP. TBH I wish this is how more people voted as it would give us a better version of Representational Democracy.

I still love the BNP solution to the Northen Ireland problem.... They would choose to annex Eire as part of the Unkted Kingdom to solve the sectarian violence there. Which shows just how ignorant and narrow minded they are....

It's been interesting to watch them learn from the spin doctors though. Griffen is quite a clever bloke, they have managed to seduce a disenfranchised working class of traditional tory voters (the so called Alf Garnett vote) and built on the annoyance with the swing towards the center of the modern conservatives to build a vaneer is respectability by glossing over their abhorent past (and a lot of evidence would show it's not just their past...) and spinning tales of modern folk devils coming from abroad, stealing our jobs and raping our virgins......

It genuinely scares and saddens me that anyone rational can support them.

Shall we just skip to the end?

Do you think every non white person should fuck off out of the UK?

Thought that would save 1,000 posts skipping round the subject.

No, but Tories, Labour both open the floodgates and let every bugger in. It has helped yes I admit, but now its getting stupid. Like Political correctness is. Same with Human rights saying you cant whack a burgler in your house when he is having it away with your family silver.

Probably not one of you have had problems with people from other races in the past like in High School. I know i had lots of shit from muslims all because I was white. Is that fair?

Or does that not class as "bigoted racism"?

And before you get on your high horse, I worked for a Sikh guy for about a year, was good job

You had a shit time at school and some muslims bullied you. From what you're saying it sounds like you're judging a race of people based on that experience. If I were to judge races based on my school experience I'd want to maim black people - fortunately I realise that a bunch of black kids being UTTER fuckwits does not say anything about black people in general. To think otherwise would be *dun dun duuuuuuuunnnnnn* RAAAAAACISM!.
