Idea's to Placate the Mrs?

So, Rugby 7's in Dubai this weekend. Great event and far too much beer drunk. Got home relatively early and ordered a pizza. When it arrived I Did my usual and put 3 slices on a plate and left the rest in a box and stuffed it in the oven on lowest heat to keep warm.

I promtly fell asleep on sofa and was woken up by dog barking. Smoke pooring from the kitchen, my pizza + box was on fire. Smoke was very thick and stank the whole house out. Cooker is ruined. Maid has had to clean out every cupboard and wash everything down.

As you can imagine I'm in a bit of bother with the ol' girl. She just rang me saying the new cooker has cost 3500 DHs (550 GBP), so not too bad. She's still pissed at me big time.

What should I do to make it up to her?

You have a maid? Why the hell is your missus complaining then? You can afford a maid you can afford to replace the cooker no problem.

I did take her out for a nice meal at a new Italian place in Festival City, no not pizza joint! New cooker arrived yesterday, much nicer than the old one. So she is kinda pleased about loosing the old one. I'm not off the hook totally but close.

Hmmm Burj is quite cheep right now, only 200 GBP a night. About 1/3 of the normal rate. Al Maha is still damned expensive and I prefer Bab Al Shams resort myself. Have booked 4 nights in Chedi, Muscat just after Christmas. At least you can bathe in the sea in Oman. Unlike Dubai where all the beaches are closed due to sewage in the water!!

Chedi is an amazing chill out place.

Yeah, she does do some part time teaching jobs but doesn't earn that much from it. I pay for pretty much everything. Although she would argue that it was my fault and that she gave up a career to live out here. She convieniently forgets that she did not want to go back to work after having our son, Alex.
