Ideas for new classes!

What would you like to see as a new class in each realm?

Personally i'd like a Friar type class for Midgard. As we are supposedly the melee realm, but some healing ability would be nice on the char, as Midgard lacks healing quite a bit.

Try playing a hunter?

Nothing wrong with Dioz I would suggest you get some tips from him, its not Mythics fault your shite mate :).

Another mid caster class I think, one that nukes for as much as wind theurgists, and instead of pets an aoe mez.

Dioz is buffed... alot, and I dont understand how he manages to avoid being ganked by an sb as soon as he steps out of apk, and 8/10 times my slam is purged (if I can land it)

Isn't savage like a friar in a way?i have found them good opponents,i am sure they have very good evade like a friar?and sure as hell can hit good like one.If i played mid pryd i would be a kobold savage, very quick and evades a great deal.

Alb/Mid could do with another healer class. Hibernia has four, if you count the mentalist.

I'd change Paladins to Acolyte baseclass, so they have heals/buffs. Same with Thanes, make them Seer baseclass and give them basic heals/buffs.

This will give them 2 more lines to spec in, but you can put the buffs in the baseline for Chants/Stormcalling which doesn't have a baseline atm. Only the heal line will need to be specialised in, which isn't important as baseheals will suffice.

Playing a healer in Hibernia... it can be difficult to find groups.
With three healing classes they're all over the place and naturists come cheap. Play a healer on Mid/Alb and you get 5 PMs a minute asking if you need a group.

Cos there's 200 Infs patrolling the paths of emain before him.

Hibernia has four, if you count the mentalist.
Hehe, like anyone would ever spec Mentalism.... <remembers what he did out of sheer boredom on Sunday> Er, forget that :)

Dont know ifs its different on other servers but its very tough to find good Healers. To be honest i only know 1 healer who i would trust with my life in RvR, Mordia. :D
Theres lots of Shamans running around, most are either bots or retarded though. ;x

Matt - Friar isnt really like Savage as it cant heal or buff other people. :)

A sort of fighting healer type would be great imo..

Healer with 1.5 specc points and hammerstyles would be the definition of pain.

cornell, did u not play hib?

blademasters are hardly overpowered, same as eld's and ments, and don't forget the shades. wardens mainly leave the class through boredom too, since its push pbt and try and hit someone, rinse and repeat.

there again its not like you've moved to a realm where they have overpowered stealthers, overpowered stealthing cc, and enough numbers to have 4 guys to each 1 hibernian is it

If you can find them.

OK, some ideas, inspired by the realms more than game balance :)

Alb
---

The Squire

The servants of the Knights, often Knights in training - they would not be allowed to wear the shining armour of their masters but would be quick, nimble and good scouts. The Squire would be share the same core weaponskills as an armsman, but would would have studded instead of plate and would also have stealth. The squire would also have the skill to repair (though not make) weapons and armour of their level.

Hib
---

The Forrester

A master of trees and the forest. The forrester would be skilled at both the felling and planting of trees. A pure specialist with the axe (new speccable line & weapons) with a class line that allows them to seed areas (GTAE) with various short-term effects (e.g. snare, poison, disease).

Mid
---

The Axemaster

The master of the throwing axe, this Viking would have access to the core Midgard weapon specs plus a class-defining styled throwing axe line. The short-range throwing axe line woud have a combination of normal thrown styles with effects (stun, AE, etc) and insta-throw styles.

Totally new class? I'd like to see an Illusionist in err Hib I suppose.

Illusionist spell list:

Mirror:
creates a mirror image of the caster that is dispelled once hit.

Dimensional rift:
Random teleport within 500 unit range.

Confusticate:
350 Radius AOE spell that removes the current target from the enemy.

Fumble - PBAE spell that makes melee chars think they have dropped their weapon thus missing a combat round (insta cast 10 second recast)

Hidden Force:
Self target illusion that changes you into a nearby object (tree, rock, whatever sort of terrain is closest). While in this form you cannot cast, move but can be targetted and hit.

Water walker:
Allows you to move at normal speed over the surface of the water.

Become foe:
Randomly changes your form to appear like someone from another realm. This form is lost when you cast a spell or take damage.

Haze:
Group invisibility for 30 seconds on a 30 min timer. You cannot enter combat or take damage else the spell dissapates.

Shrink:
Group effect spell that makes everyone in the group the size of a lurikeen for 60 seconds (10 min recast).
Then add in the usual nukes, damage adds and buffs :) sounds like fun to me.

I agree that Healer CC can be the best CC in the game.

Pac 48 Insta-AE stun > cast AE mezz

but...

cast AE mezz > Pac 38 Insta-AE stun

The relevence of this is that, to get the only worthwhile insta AE stun our primary healing class (and we only get two healers) has to spec to 48 in a line that it is not their healing line.

Speccing to 48 Pac means you cannot have any spread heal or any of the resist buffs.

Less than 1/5 of Healers I know spec to 48 Pac these days. Many don't have AE insta stun at all (myself included).

Insta aoe stunn -> cast mezz -> GP.... yey!! It´s the insta win button namned GP we whine about.

Hibs insta aoe amnesia -> cast mezz works as good and you can do it more often then every 10 mins.

And it sucks if you wanna do aoe stunn for pbaoe later.

Just some random ideas:
- A spear/javlin throwing class.
-Spearman (huge shield and long attackrange, bonuses if in formation with other spearmen).
- An battle-engineer type of class. Throwing early versions of grenades and use weird contraptions.
- Gladiatior class (net and trident perhaps)
