There's alot of good specs for theu's.
It all depends on what your primary task with the theu is.
For RVR:
I loved 40 earth, 36 ice for beating down unclaimed/lowlevel keep doors, it will also serve those in FG grp's well, not so good for small grps imo.
I loved 41 ice, 35 earth in OF, haven't played that spec since then but I imagine if played well it can still annoy the hell out of any grp you meet.
Wind/Earth spec is ok:ish I guess, I didn't like it very much tough.
My current favourite spec is
45 wind, 25 ice, rest earth. Nuke hard, spam pets both stun and nuking ones.
For PvE
I'd say that 48 earth is overkill you gimp yourself into just being a petspamming bubblemachine. For a PBT bot it's good though.
I'd say that 40 earth, 36 ice gives you the best bang for the buck on epic mobs, without gimping your nukevariance too bad even if low RR.
Again 41 ice, 35 earth is an absolutely functional spec.
Wind/Earth it's ok, you still have 10 sec pbt and can deal a lot of dmg.
Wind/Ice/earth it's decent you shouldn't have any trouble soloing redcon/lightpurple mobs if buffed.
There are ofcourse other specs but as I have no experience with any of those I'll refrain from comment.
Next time I get my hands on 2 respecstones I will be trying 50 ice for permasnare and the lvl 48 icepets though.

My theur is 45 earth , rest ice... quite like the spec for aswell pve as rvr.
Though i'm sure if you go wind instead of ice it'll be good still too.
Question: did wind get nerfed at one point? i just remember all or alot of theurgs respeccing out of wind... Not that you see many these days now anyways...

Best spec for killing people is 46 wind, 26 earth.
At this you get nice AE mezz, great nukes and stunning pets.
And if they purge your AE mezz, you can still root them with the Base Ice root. Get some range, and the pets will do the rest.
You're only fucked if its an enemy tank who uses charge after you have casted the pets.
With the AE mezz and single target root its pretty easy to kill groups of 2.
At 26 earth you get the 10 seconds PBT, which can be quite handy, especially when the enemy tank tries to slam you.
At this you get nice AE mezz, great nukes and stunning pets.

AEMezz... the way i see a theur is an interrupter not a mezzer. Mezz you leave to sorcs, dmg you leave to cabbies/sorcs and wizzies.
But i guess in the end it'll come down to how you want to play... i suppose if you want to go solo/leech or never have a sorc anywhere you'd have to rely on yourself for doing mezz/dmg.
But if you're going group i consider it a waste of going high wind for a mezz that sorcs do much better anyways, which leaves you doing a pure interrupting job (which is what theurs are for)

have gone 46 wind 29 ice, am only a low rr on my theurg at present so have got MOF3 to lessen resists.
Had fun last night solo, unfortunetly still need to get use to the wind and ice pets as i was forgetting to nuke half the time.
I must admit i did like the theurgs AOE mez had fun with it, i know it does not compete with the Sorcerers mezz but it has its uses. will play around with it for a few weeks and might switch to ice/earth.
On another note does anyone know when we get the NPC respecs, is it in a patch or in next expansion?
