For those who don't read general, posted it there also:

Well, heard about this today and it's a bloody marvelous idea to be honest.

All of you who have a mobile(if you don't, get with the program*lol*), put the letters ICE(in case of emergency) in the name of your trusted "loved one".

This way, if you get into an accident, the paramecids and helping people can contact this person to ask medical info and such.

You're rarely moving without your mobile, and this helps the medical staff to ring the proper person, since they rarely can guess who is someone who they could call.

That all, brilliant idea in my book.

In my area, if you had an accident, the "helping" people would indeed help....

Heard about this before - is a very good idea but I wonder how long it will take to become established in society. I suppose paramedics etc may look for it more than Joe Bloggs on the street - same as Bracelets for anyone with certain medical conditions advising people of their problem etc - I often wonder if I saw someone in trouble would I even remember to check for a bracelt or their mobile etc...

Still can't hurt to stick it in ya phone can it and who knows, one day you may be grateful of having done it! (but lets hope no-one here has any cause to need it anytime in teh future)

just stick a note in your wallet next to your donorregistration and allergyinformation with phonenumbers and name and "People to call in case of an emergency"

they gotta check your wallet anyway to see who you are, so then they'll also see that and your allergyinfo etc etc

The added info said that there are cases where there is no wallet etc.

Just added protection.

And it's no hazzle really to edit a contact for so much gain :D

I got one of those PDA-like phones... most people that haven't played with them beforehand don't know how to operate them if their life depended on it... let alone if mine depended on it :p
