Is it me, or is Ian Banks' fiction getting more boring with each book? I could barely bring myself to put The Wasp Factory, Espedair Street, even Whit down, but now, his new books bore the pants off me? I'm reading his latest atm, and its taking me ages.

Even his sci-fi is getting a bit drawn out.

Its Iain or Ian depending on whether its fiction or sci-fi

no it isn't fool

it's Iain Banks for his good fiction.

and Iain M. Banks for the culture sci-fi novels.

Sidenote: I remember having him sign a few books, he looks at the cover so he knows which name to sign with :)

ban tbh. OK my memory isn't what it was, but I did remember that there was some kind of difference.

I've always thought his normal fiction was better than than his sci-fi books (yes, the 'M.' signals danger).

Same here.

Absolutely loved the crow road, wasp factory and complicity but was mildly bored reading the player of games.
