Never understood chips with curry sauce, the sauce is bad and isn't suitable for chips.

I'm with the Northerners on chips - gravy please. Gravy like tar.

This.

And just to reiterate; gravy like tar.

Battered (aka Orange) chips. A midlands thing and nothing can beat these beauts covered in curry sauce.

Aye. Its a culture thing (more the bacterial sort than the total of the inherited ideas, beliefs, values, and knowledge, which constitute the shared bases of a society)

daaaammit can't rep, great comment!!

I have never had a curry chip, I may try one one day but that photo gave me no inclination to do so i the near future!

Chips cook up a storm « Express & Star

I had some friends up from Swindon last weekend, and they wanted fish & chips, so I sent them down the local chippy (I'm down near Chapel Ash) and they were quite surprised by orange chips.

After nomnoms, there was much praise for orange chippies!!

Majors in Bilston is the king of the orange chippes mate :D! The gf is from Cheltenham, never had orange chips and took her to my local one (Wednesfield), now she can't get enough. They are the kings, everything else seems absolutely crap tbh.. maybe Lazeez after a night out can compare.. hah.

Chip curry muffin is a thing of rare taste and beauty. Don't often see them outside the north-west though.

Ez, chips and curry sauce are great, I know it might seem alien because you didn't grow up with it but trust me it tastes a whole lot better than it looks. :D

What type of food do you want?

Best Indian is Michaels in Thornton ( 15-20 mins outside town center ), but worth it for the naans.

BEWARE THEIR NAANS. Literally, you could export michaels naans as tents for refuges. Holy fuck.

Thai there is Wah Wahs on Topping Street ( like 10+ restaurants on that street as well ), thai by night or mews in poulton.

All the takeaways in blackpool are the same...dog shit. The shalamar gardens, near the counting house/north pier is the best of a bad bunch. I echo ECA's sentiments about the nan breads in Micheals, and their curries are nice, but its too far away from Blackpool.

Dude, tower lounge on saturday afternoons is reem. Get yourself in there and there is a KFC next door should you get hungry.

The Meherin's good on Anchorsholme Lane, might be a bit far out though.

Another vote for Wah Wah's, do like that place. West Coast Rock cafe isn't bad but feckit, steak :>

Haha mate, by the time I'm hungry food will be food.. doesn't matter if it is dogshite. Tower Lounge? I'll put the word in, though I think it'll most likely be a multitude of places, 22 of us going up in the morning, 10am start with a 24hr bar at the hotel, I plan not to be able to stand sunday morning :D!

Just got back, fucking quality mate! Good call on Tower Lounge ended up a mish-mash of places, Yates at the night though absolutely nailed it was in Syndicate for all of ten minutes best waste of £10 ever. Some of the gash that was on display was immense, northern lasses don't fuck about. Quality. Stayed at Bradleys hotel if that means owt to yer.
