God dammit! Those yanks are playing the PC version of San Andreas right now whereas we Brits have to wait until Friday. Here's me with a day off TODAY!

On the off-chance, does anyone know anywhere in London that has San Andreas in stock and might be prepared to sell it under the counter a couple of days early?

Maybe some of you work in such a place and would be prepared to meet me round the back, by the bins. Maybe.

Help me!

CEX were always one of the more prolific street date breakers as I recall; along with Tesco...

Dammit! I've just come back from CEX off Oxford Street and they're an exchange only place and don't sell new games. :twak:

I also tried in GAME, suggesting they sell me the game today and ring it up on Friday but no joy.

I'll guess I'll have to wait until Friday like ORDINARY JOE PUBLIC.

Why don't you just gain it via other methods. :>

Summo, we've waited 8 months - what's a couple more days? :)

I know it's galling that they get to play it before us. Look at it this way, Poland isn't getting it til the end of July. :)

From what I've heard there are a whole load of sound issues with the PC version though, like random chunks of dialogue not being spoken and (not technically a sound issue) subtitles zipping past at a pace too fast to read. Roll on v1.1!

And they didn't tell you about the CEX around the corner, that does sell new games? Rathbone place I think). Nice of 'em.

I went to the one in Rathbone Place and there were no new games there at all. :(

Thanks for your help, guys. Maybe I'll just browse the web randomly for a bit...

CEX are absolutely shit these days and will go under soon - but that's an entirely new thread.

Personally I can't see what all the fuss is about with GTA:SA. I played the PS2 version and thought it was boring. Looking at the PC incarnation, we have higher resolution and better textures but hardly anything to shout about.

Battlefield 2 is the game to look forward to in June. :worthy:

It's 2002 all over again

Hehe, I still remember the thread at BW where we discussed Vice City on the PC. I couldn't get the bastard to run on my old GF 4200 Ti at the time without throttling the GPG port speeds.

No doubt we'll be discussing the next GTA in a couple of years time.

Did anyone else notice you have to drive to 'Freddy's house' in one of the missions? hehe
It's corrupting my innocence :) That said, the packaging is very swish.

Kind Regards

This game is fantastic. The sound problems I'd read about were evident in the early stages of play, but have now completely disappeared - it's great.

Right now, I like Vice City better... but that might change once I've played some more :p

Climbing up walls is pretty cool... as is spraying people in the face with a paint can! (waits for this to become the latest craze in London  )

Damn right you were asked for ID. You do realise its the retailer and individual who serves you that is liabel for a fine or jail time for selling to an underage person?

If your old enough to buy a product, then you should be able to prove it.
