real madrid insert the clauses to protect their investments (believe beckhams is a lot higher than rauls)
being a chelsea fan myself it is getting a bit silly now to be offering those sorts of wages and will only lead to unrest throughout the squad, i'd be happy to see one quality midfielder brought in and then leave it at that.
edit/ the more you read into this story the more it sounds like his agent trying to force real madrid into improving rauls contract.
