Just popped outside to prep my motorbike, and a bee started hovering around my head.

A bee ! In January !! In England !

OK the sun's out, its a lovely day - but still chilly. It's half a year away from summer. It's not right. Bees come out when all the flowers produce pollen. In the summer.

well congratulations, you must be very proud. I hope youve noted it down in your bee spotters book, was it a deep throated warbler or a greater striped buzzer?

Alas ! I had only my Ladybird Book of Flying African Swamp Beetles.

I think it was a Lesser Fuzzy Bumbler.

Aren't we a bit Streisand today hmm?

Bees are f*cked anyway, most of them died last summer due to that "thing" noone seems to figure out, and now the ones that survived, are out and about due to a warmer winter.

No more beeeees, beeeees, weeee! No more beeeeees. Eddie Izzard talked about beeeeeeees.

If you're a bee, why bother going out in the winter ? Its not like there's loads of pollen about. And what do bees do ? Gather pollen, make honey, have sex, then die.

Come on, put your hands up all those who have had sex with a bee. Or watched bee porn.

It would of been a queen, probably a bumblebee I expect. They come out of hibernation to start the colony for the new year. It is very very early to see one - it's been extremely mild last 3 weeks - was out fishing in my shorts and t-shirt on sunday.
