it doesn't matter really. if MS didn't exist some other company would be in it's place. if linus had never been born some other person would have started an underground movement by accident.

I've given up championing the one true ping. Use whatever you want to use, but remember to play by the rules.

I have Opera 6, NS7 and IE6 all installed, and there's much of a muchness between em atm. IE6 has slightly higher functionality in web page usage, but lacks intrinsic features compared to the other 2.

Gonna try the beta of O7 in a minute though :)

Well in the couple of minutes I've had it installed I've noticed:

Sexy UI.
Renders better than O6 (although it still doesn't render the tables on here properly, I'll have a fiddle)
Handles the dropdowns in the BW leagues pages, which O6 and NS don't, and only IE did correctly.
SDI
Internal Pop up killer (means I can rid myself of PUS hopefully)
Only 3mb of a d/l
D/L manager is teh win

And so on.

And unlike NS7, it lets you use the wheel/middle mouse button to move up and down the page by clicking it (the wheel, not the page).

Screeny:

That main toolbar is a bit Aqua like, which is nice :D

Heh, I found you need to fiddle with the css display properties to get it to show the page properly, as it defaults to user style sheets :)

Mozilla > IE

mozilla's half decent, but I couldn't ever find any kind of popup blocking stuff, bar "Block images for this server", which, to be frank, is wholefully fucking useless.

Sar, you tried out the email client yet?

I'm stuck here until 8pm, so no chance to fiddle until then.

I use Microsoft Internet Explorer. I love it. It is very good. I would recommend it to everyone. Even those without the internet or even a computer. It's changed my life for the better.

And Cage, i've posted this image before, presumably because someone else also couldn't navigate an options dialogue

Sar, FYI Mozilla1.1 handles the dropdowns on BW mainpage ok. It doesn't work perfectly, since half of them are cut off, and if you scroll to the right, they stop working, however the ones that can be accessed without needing to scroll accross work fine :)

I've come to the conclusion that Mozilla is for filthy communists, yay capitalism!

Nah, happy with Outlook atm tbh, although I'll give this Opera mail client a crack. Just back from college, hence the tardy reply. :)

PS: Lol Shocko, I would click on most of the links in those dropdowns so it's nice that all of them are accessible ;)

Ive now tried Opera 7

I'm not all that impressed. I still prefer Netscape. And even IE

Ive also tried out Mozilla which tbh sucks as its a shite unpolished version of Netscape....or should I say that Netscape is the hugely improved and polished version of Mozilla?

Anyway I'll stick with Netscape and use IE whenever necesary...

I was shocked by the sheer crap that Netscape installed.

I removed it in disgust.

Mozilla 1.1 renders the dropdowns perfectly - the only error is it doesn't render the green borders. Win.

(Actually, it hides the stupid ad image beneath it completely, but thats a bonus, really.)
