See when your playing CS, am i the only one who gets shot AROUND courners/boxes ?. it happens quite alot when i am clearly out of sight of the other player. Crazy
it dose not matter if your out of site or not... if you are behind a box and some one knows or thinks that you are there then they can shoot you. if you look at the weapons lists here in barrys world for counter strike then you will find out that not only can many weapons penetrait armor but can also shoot through walls and boxes.
So if you are hiding behind a door and keep poping out to shoot people dont be surprised if some one awp's you right through the door...
i know i have made the mistake of just test firing a weapon onto a wall and killing one of my team mates who was hiding on the other side by acdent.... can we say OPS lalala
yea i know laggg. Once my computer lagged so much that i ended up in a wall and died. it did not say that any one shot me or anything but i just died in a wall... i bet that it would of made sutch a mess uke:
ok i know that i did not need to put that there but i just had to try out the puke
Getting shot round corners is a product of the predictive netcode in the Half-Life engine. The discrepancy occurs because client & server calculate bullet trajectories and player locations seperately which can, and does have some extremely weird effects sometimes.
Dump the crappy predict netcode, and bring back the old one. I now cannot play as a sniper in tfc because of it, and i pretty much stoped playing CS because of it too I allways seem to be on the bad side of the prediction, since the HL 1.06 patch came out, or what ever it was called,i can't remember the version, but it was the one before the last one. My HL experience was changed from the moment i installed it I realy can't stand it in tfc, when i run round a corner, see a sniper run/duck/ and strafe to avoid the shot, but in truth the guy has allready shot me, before i do any of it
I know this is probably not the best post to bring this up in but it'll do.
I have found as a HPB myself that strafe firing is almost impossible. With a usually unstable ping of 200-300 ping I find that when I strafe fire the lag causes me to be in a different place to where I actually am therefore I shoot slightly to the left/right as opposed to the enemys body. And before anyone says it, it's not because I'm crap and I miss, coz the movements are very jerky and my crosshairs stay on target as far as I'm concerned. This means I have to stand still and hope they miss with their first shot. Whether it's just me and my comp I don't know but just consider this when you say that having a high ping makes no difference to skill.
ignus, thats what teh netcode prediction is there for. YOu should be jerking around like amd and any shots on your crosshair that are on teh enemy will hit him, this is the magic bullet effect wehre HPW see things afetr an LPB, but still manage to hit that lpb after he has hidden cause when they shot, on their screen he was there.
Are you sure you have not turned cl_lc off?
Kurt > do what I do, it wont stop the prediction shots on you of other players, but it will make your aim more old school.
turn cl_lc and cl_lw to 0, this will disable any client side prediction on your part what so ever -only really recommended for low ping players though.
Well the other thing I failed to metion was that strafing is difficult when the action starts as your movements become so jerky that you daren't move in case you go too far in one direction, so really sitting and firing is yu ronly option. In one match I pressed my reload key and the gun took 12 seconds before it started to reload, I counted.
