I'm going to comment on the whole "i can use my money for other things". EMA (aka. "your money") Is not supposed to be for other things it is supposed to be for education (be that travel or expenses incurred whilst studying). So when you say the system is screwing you, what you actually mean is you are trying to screw the system but do not know how to do it properly.

I grasped the concept of the thread easily i just chose to comment on something that I thought was wrong in you're ideology of the system.

As one of my lecturers used to say, the best way to start an argument is by being right. Something which you have yet to learn I suppose.

This thread can be summed up in the following:

1. Bugz (Used to having everything for free and on a plate) gets turned down for freebie money.

2. Bugz threatened with the concept of having to reach into his pocket is angered! After all he's 16 the government should pay for everything right??

3. Bugz makes post in order for everyone to agree with him that government are bad mmk?

4. People with experience of life tell Bugz "this is the way it is"

5. Bugz says its wrong because he thinks government should fund everything to do with his higher education

6. People with experience of higher education think Bugz is being an idiot and let him know that if you want higher education you'll have make sacrifices.

7. Bugz (Who can't take not being right) proceeds to call anyone who tells him like it is (shattering that cotton wool protection) an asshat and moron when it in fact him that is being a moron.

Got a reply today and sorted it to a rate I am happy with.

Lady nicely explained why I wouldn't receive the benefits (which didn't occur before - simply a letter saying 'sorry, you don't get this') and then some other very nice people working for council or what-have-me directed me to a way in which i can drop the train bill to ~£30 a month which is much more acceptable than the shit I'd have to pay normally :d

So I guess this thread's anger has now been solved!

Sucks to be you then. I guess i bought my railcard before they changed the system. Mine's a third off any journey i care to make + certain station shops i can get discount food. One of the best investment style purchases i've ever made (at least it was when I was getting the train every week)
