After reading some comments on here, I was not expecting too much.

The first two thirds of the movie are great, it does seem to wind down suddenly and feels rushed at the end. But it is still a good watch, and Smith is on form.

Will Smith was excellent in it bt there was far too much needless fannying around. Like I said in the other thread it could of been so very good and it definitely needed to be an hour longer either that or they should of got to the point sooner.

I was so very annoyed that the main twist in the film was that his dog was a female, I mean come on!

A good test of how good a film is is when they show the reviews on the billboards and in papers see who is saying them.

I think for I Am Legend all the good reviews were from quality publications such as Nuts and Heat ect.

I can't say I didn't like it, I did I just thought it was a massive let down.

This isnt really true imo, they quote reviews even if they are out of context.

A good measure of a film is really just look at the overall plot/actors beforehand you can tell with about 95% certainty whether a film will be any good or not before its even released.

I enjoyed it. I certainly enjoyed not having to sit through a 2hr 30min - 3hr long film for once.

If I was him I'd have put UV lamps in the house. Seems a fairly silly oversight for such a clever guy.

I don't understand how the "baddie" could have been intelligent enough to have an almost personal grudge, perhaps its simply how it came across to me but weren't they all meant to be as thick at two short planks?

It was OK, would have prefered more messing about in the city, building up for longer and a better ending. The way it ended reminded me a bit of "The Postman" and "Mad Max".

Smiths character told us everything we know about the infected people, he could have been wrong in many of his assumptions and observations. Remember he was on a spiral to total insanity.

Also I saw the infected people as displaying animal instincts, Smith stole the bad guys mate, and so he went after Smith. He was like an alpha male to the other infected.

It was ok, it kinder lost the plot towards around the last third of the film, although Will Smith was very good in it. If you want to see a REALLY shit film watch Bee Movie...

Felt a bit meaningless - what was the message? Our scientific pursuits will be the downfall of all mankind, but then also its salvation? Nice photo though.

Pretty much fana. Its probably true as well, if we create something we can un-create it with enough effort (probably).

I thought it was OK.

It felt very rushed toward the end and it was missing a lot of development in places.

Would have been good to have more character development in terms of his survival and psychological downspiral that didn't involve talking to manikins..

It was good, but needed more. I don't mind a 2+ Hr film if they fill the time with good material and this could have used more..
but then again, perhaps if they'd tried to give more backstory and info on the Darkseekers, then they'd have ruined some of the freaky mysterious edge.. *shrug* :S

..Also, does Smith have a clause in his contract for all his films that he must at some point be shown working out? ;p

If I was him I'd have put UV lamps in the house. Seems a fairly silly oversight for such a clever guy.
Couldn't agree more :x

Felt rushed toward the end and would have been good to have seen more of an ending..

he's no charlton heston.....

the omega man was better

WTF? No way. Omega Man was a dire film in its day and is now.

Legend starts of well enough but the last third ruins a potentially excellent film. We catch very little of the mutants and the CGI for a big budget film is piss poor.

The ending was also rushed and, I believe, changed due to negative screenings.

Won't be buying on disc.

Thought it was very poor. The potential was there. Why take a movie based on a book and not finish it like it should have been finished, which then gives you the reason/meaning for the title of the movie? They could have followed it through but alas typical hollywood bollocks, always light at the end of the tunnel happy ending, horse shit fuck.

Thought the scenes of new york empty were superb though and the whole feeling of the movie was eerie.

It was a decent movie and Will Smith was excellent as usual but I certainly won't be rushing out to buy it on dvd when its released.

Such a shame that they didn't follow through with the big twist from the book or the actual ending, which I guess they couldn't really do having taking out the twist, this book still needs a definitive movie made about it hopefully the next time they get round to remaking it they will do it right.

I really quite enjoyed the film, but...

They killed Sam! And then I cried for the rest of the film. The dog was a much better, fleshed out character than the two that arrived at the end (whose names I don't even know) and so I would have preferred a film where Sam lived and those two got bitten. I don't usually like dogs, but that dog rocked.

Typical cop out at the end.

In the Book his character is the only human left.
The vampires/zombies start out thick as planks and easy to kill (which sends him round the bend..killing day after day ...didnt come across in the movie at all), but become smarter and develop a society of sorts.

The reason it is called I AM Legend is because he turns into the monster

The books short but one you cant put down

Just watched it, utter shit,

no story, just a guy in a city, meets some bird, dies, the end. Crap CGI.

The dog was quite good though

I'd still read the book if I where you, though he has given away the ending its still worth a read and there is a very big twist in it.
